OBX LSDs in general are really hit or miss. You'll have to replace the washers with higher quality ones but generally after that I've heard a lot of good things about the OBX.

a lot of people have said great things about the obx headers, they're not on the same level as Rmw's but for the price they're hard to beat. As someone else mentioned their lsds need to have parts swaped out to be be their best. For what its worth, I have an obx header waiting to be installed however i don't think that i would purchase their lsd myself

If you dig a couple weeks back there was a really detailed thread on OBX LSD installs.

I had the header and for the money I would recommend it for sure.

If you plan on getting a head then wait and save for the RMW header. It really pulls it all together.

The general consensus seems to be that the OBX is just a copy of the Quaife. The stock one is just alright. I have it in my car, never having driven a MINI without an LSD I couldn't tell you whether or not it makes that much of a difference.

I had an OBX header too, but I can't really say whether or not it made a difference. The exhaust tone was definitely deeper, and if you get around the issues with the spring loaded joint between the header and the rest of the exhaust you shouldn't have any other issues with it .

What are the "issues" you speak of?
Copy you said? Is it a good copy or a bad copy?

Obviously some of the price difference is profit, and part of a name you're paying for, but I think Quaife probably makes a better product than OBX. Is it worth the extra $650-$700? I thought so, that's why I upgraded my stock LSD to a Quaife. For those that don't have the sickness of spending a substancial portion of their monthly income on their car, the OBX will likely work fine .

The issues I spoke of with the header are related to the flange bolts that OBX includes. They're not long enough to properly attach the two sides of the flange with the donut gasket in place. Some longer bolts easily fix this problem .

I have well over 18,000 miles on my obx header and have had no issues. Was actually inspecting the system while they changed my brake pads - all looks good. The supersprint bolts are exactly the same length and know of people using it w/ no issues. While there have been critiques about the OBX this is the first time I am hearing that the bolts are two short.

What is critical is measuring the distance between the header and the catback and getting the cat length right so it doesn't push or pull your exhaust system. If the bolts are too short I suspect that the cat length is off.
