First mods on my new R56

Well, Ive had the car for 2 full days, so its time to begin the mods. Here is what I plan / the order that I plan to do it.

1. Alta CAI
2. Alta Intercooler
3. Alta turboback exhaust
4. Alta turbo inlet hose
5. Alta boost tube
6. unichip (maybe)

I will probably end up with a boost gauge at/near the same time as the CAI.
I am planning on going with Alta for everything because I like to have things match and I have heard nothing but good things about them. M-7 also comes highly recommended, but I think I'm going to stick with Alta. I might move the inlet hose up on the list because it is cheap/easy.

My question to you guys is, am I doing this in the right order? Am I missing anything? Is there anything on there that I dont need? I want to get my MCS on par with my Grand National as far as acceleration, and I hope this will do it. Oh yeah, MPG is fairly important because this is a driver/ 40-50k/year car.

I'd probably forgo the CAI, since it is likely to have little bang for the buck, and get the boost gauge and a temp gauge when I got the intercooler if I were you. It is never too early to check how things are doing.

The only thing I would change otherwise would maybe be to get the exhaust first. I am planning on trying my hand at G-Stock, so I will probably only get the catback myself, as that is all that is allowed for engine mods, but I just like loud engines.

As far as it putting it on par with the GN, I dunno. I've never driven anything quite that fast, but I think those parts together are advertised to get 220 at the wheels. In a perfect world, that should get you near the bottom of the 13's. I think you're gonna need tires.

I would not skip the CAI at all and I'd be sure to remove the hood scoop cover. , I'd get the intercooler last too, I think that it would tie everything in nicely

As far as 13's you could see high 13's but not low 13's.

Do intake and exhaust as first mods.....adds great power but also adds some awesome sound quality; that's how I started.

I think I'd be happy in the high 13's, it is a daily driver after all

Not sure, the charts are all down on the Alta site, and I dont remember the exact claimed HP gains. I'd be willing to bet the power range on the tube is pretty narrow, and the power range on the turbo back is pretty much full spectrum though.

Personally I'd skip 1, 4, and 5. Go with 3 if you want sound but don't expect a lot of performance from it. Tuning will make a big difference.

Sound is the least of what I want. I want go fast, with very little noise.

Others will disagree with me but do the intercooler and tuning only. Maybe the DIY intake.

I believe he means the Unichip.

I think he's right on which mods will give you acutal measureable, reproduceable horsepower gains.

yep, those are the three mods I've gone with. Intake, intercooler, and chip. The chip made a huge difference.

As far as I know Unichip is the only system out right now. We are working on a system, and I understand GIAC has tuning coming out soon as well.

What's with recommending we buy Unichip? -> although I did for many other reasons...

Is there something about your product that you are telling us?

What order do you'll recommend. I'm split in the paths of doing more to the engine...or more to suspension at this moment. I have a new exhaust and I was thinking either rear sway 25mm next or that new M7 SGA intake which i fell involve with. Both similarly priced. The sway i think would make the more noticeable change to driving but no visually. And the intake would be a big visual, some sound, and a little gain in HP. Obviously i want to chip and ect. but that is summer plans. Not mid college brake plans. haha
