Drivetrain Sprint Booster
Keith, I see your points on the perceptual benefits provided by said product. On this note, I can say it is not for me. The technical document is correct on what it provides; for some people, this monetary investment may be worth the benefit.
Canyon...chill the **** out. Huevo has been nothing but cordial, and you've turned this into a pissing match.

the question is if you hook this up to your brake pedal will you get the feeling of having a BBK?
Seriously, while it may enhance the pedal feel and some may prefer it, there is no true performance enhancement. The price makes it even harder to take serious. Perhaps this would get more serious discussion in another forum - electrical ?

if it will give u the better throttle response regardless of how it operates, wouldn't it worth the money? (its quite a lot for what it is but still..) cuz i remember seeing ur post stating that... throttle response improvement alone is worth the $$$ for a little low performance gain of LDG's tune... a long time ago. no?
via a tune your get better throttle response via the ECU not a piggyback which is what the sprint booster is.
Wow!
Let's think of a couple of things....
Heavy shift ***** don't do anything to the transmission, yet many like the driver engagment improvement.
Short shift kits dont' do anything to the transmission, yet many like the driver engagment improvement.
The comment about the mouse speed is perfect, and it's very on point. Now think. If you have a way to fast or to slow mouse the task of using a computer is very frustrating.
The Sport button on the 07+ manual MCS has pretty much the same effect. Yet it's not catching the crap that this device does.
I've got my own thoughts on it's price/performance proposition, but really, the number of posts from "experts" who've never used it are staggering. When has Keith (k-huevo) done anything other than honest feedback here? Um, never.
While the concept behind this product may be brilliant or stupid, many are forgetting the "human interface factor". While the function of many things may be identical, how we interact with the thing may turn it from a dud to a star. Something to think about.

Gary Anderson has one
and is doing some data logging on it. Sometime I hope to put it on the bench and quantify just what it does with some power supplies, an extra e-gas pedal, and an 0-scope/volt meter. But I don't know if this will come to be, we'll see how scheduling goes....

+1
I've tempered my negativity on said product almost entirely due to his bringing up the perceptual factor (something I had never entertained).

Your absolutely right. Perhaps this attitude will catch on here at NAM.
Yes, that's car in my sig. It's an MC with and "S" hood and bumper. See my gallery for before and after pics.
I have done the ECU mod and Sprint Booster on my Crossfire. I first did the Sprint Booster and later did the ECU mod, and can tell you first hand they truly complement each other. So now I'm interested in knowing more about an ECU mod for my MC. I know where to get the Sprint Booster.

She's HoTTT!!!!
Well I bought it and put it in and it was easily the most pleasant install of any performance part I have done. It does take a while to get used to since the car wants to go fast all the time now which is fine. I give it an 8 out of 10, A tune is a better bet I think gentlemen, but if you can't wait then this will get you by. Hope this helps someone
According to a local MINI tech the only way to reset the throttle body is with their diagnostic tool. I don’t see a need to however; 50 miles down the road both the EDR program and the user will have “reset” their ways.
