Yes or no?

I have a very tough decisión to make I already have the Cat-back, Intake, Inlet tube, the Unichip. I am contemplating on getting the intercooler, downpipe, gauges. I been looking to get all the alta mods but I am really not sure what to do. I want a faster mini that for sure . But I also want my warranty . I want a good soud system also which is about the same as getting the intercooler, downpipe, and the gauges. Please help me out is all the alta mod worth it.

I'd highly recommend getting the intercooler since you'e got the PnP.
The guages would be nice. That leaves downpipes ~$300 yea? Sorry I didn't leave much budget for your stereo. You just gotta create a bigger budget =) The stereo is important too.

oops I was thinking boost tubes.

Ok, great! That's $900 for your stereo!

While the DP will give you more power, you've already got a ton of it. I'd upgrade stereo second then come back and revisit the DP.

I still highly recommend you get the intercooler first.

The Alta dp will surely compliment your current mods and will be beneficial for all future mods as well. With summer lurking around the corner, the alta fmic sounds like a good idea as well.

With all the music coming from the engine compartment you might forget about not having that new stereo for a bit.

Is your car Manual or AT? I was told that if I did all the mods I would be at 240 whp and 260 tq what do you think?

manual.

my gist is I think the intercooler would be the most beneficial of the three performance mods you are still looking at. I bet the chip could be programmed for more boost if you had it. with the extra boost you are already getting it's heating up that air pretty high. The stock intercooler is dinky sized. Your stock downpipes aren't bad.

I've personally spent much more on my stereo than I have performance mods.

i think the dp will have a bigger effect than the intercooler... Usually bigger Intercoolers = more lag but the MINI intercooler is a little on the small side.

no noticable lag difference with the alta cooler to me. and with the chip - well lag isn't around at all.

In a manual with all of the Alta mods, yes, that is doable. I'm at 260tq and 208 HP with all of the ALTA mods but an automatic transmission.

The bolt on parts should not have any impact on the warranty other than for that part since it isn't original anymore. The bolt on parts do not alter anything other than air/exhaust flow making it more efficient.

The ECU could have some impact on your warranty, I'd make sure to remove it before going in for service.

That is a common misconception. Even look at the STP turbo kits that locate the turbo at the back bumper and then route the boost to the front of the car. Even in those situations, the lag is nil. So in the case of the MINI R56, the difference in OEM core to the ALTA core is less than nil from a spool standpoint!

Just my two cents!

I am still not sure. I just got a call from the Bmw dealer saying my m3 is on the way. I should just save money and mod the m3. The Mini is really fun right now.

It seems like a no brainer to me, don't mod the mini in fact sell it, and enjoy "your" M3, Lambo, and whatever other cars "you" have laying around.

My wallet just screamed at you!

unsalada: Thanks again for the order! You will want the MINI to complement the M3!

Thanks again!
