Drivetrain Startling Plug & Play Performance - tried it?
Startling Plug & Play Performance - tried it?
Saw a new vendor advertisement about an electronic device that, in theory, reduces throttle response lag associated with the "drive by wire," in 2002 to 2008 MINIs (http://new.minimania.com/web/Item/NM.../InvDetail.cfm). The $20,000 questions are:
1. Is it necessary?
2. Does it work?
Am particularly interested in comments from experienced consumers and/or non-commerical tuners.

Sorry I was TOO startled to even try it. Might be too much for me!!!!!
In all seriousness it may be a really neat item on the R53 cars that lack the Sport function. It will NOT make ANY power improvements, it is ONLY the ability to change how the power available is manipulated with the throttle.
BMW, Porsche, and many other have had this addl. throttle trim for years.
My biggest issue with the product isn't the function it is the PRICE! Yikes!
