CF Roof Replacement

For all you weight loss junkies who want to make your MINI the leanest and meanest.........here's an article from an other forum. Not as bad as I thought it would be. The process might be the same if someone made a CF roof for the MINI. Pretty cool.

Carbon Fiber Roof replacement

I can't imagine what the cost of that would be for a Mini. It would have to be a serious two piece mold. A lot more material and labor then the M3.
Unfortunately not allowed in most racing classes.

Sure looks ready to go from the pics. Just need some good weather in the N/east for testing. Tracks covered in snow such without a snowmobile.

thats pretty neat stuff, but a MAJOR project. ( remove front and rear glass ) as stated in the article. easier said then done. i do windshields and i think unless you were REALLY good, you would have to replace both front and rear glass during this roof venture due to the probable damage you do removing them. dont forget to include those in the cost of the roof. this projects not for me but still looks pretty cool.

I have been talking about doing a roof replacement for a while. The cf roof was one of the options i was looking into. This would ebviously happen after i finished grad school. I was e-mailing waymotorworks about the roof swap and what all was involved etc.. He never got back to me about the price though. oh well.
