Reprogram the computer after installing an exhaust?

I'm eventually getting a new exhaust, probably alta. anyway, i was just talking to someone about upgrades and they said you had to get the car programmed after you change the exhaust because of the change in backpressure. i hadnt heard of anyone doing this, let alone another mini owner, but maybe they just didnt say anything because this is a given. or maybe this guy is right, but only about a particular car and not the mini. or maybe he is just plain wrong. any thoughts? thanks in advance.

No reprogramming is necessary. I have a Turbo Back Exhaust from ALTA and no programming was necessary.

However, if you have a PnP ECU and then install a new exhaust system you may want to consider sending the ECU back for programming so that it will take full advantage of the added parts.
