Ok..friday night I installed the BMP intake. Real simple, took me all of 15 minutes, if that!
Went for a short run and I think I like it. It's purely subjective, but it feels like Alice is more responsive. Not necessarily more power, but better use of the power he has. Less lag when I put my foot down.
Anyway, the filter came dry, with no oil or anything. Is this a filter I'm supposed to oil, and where can I get the right oil. What would I look for in oil? :???:

Hmm mine looked wet, RSpeed installed it, they told me that when I get my oil
changed they would re-oil the filter for free, they wash it out and re-oil it.

I looked at mine about an hour ago, its wet, like their is oil in it. check the
directions or call BMP and check, ask Randy, he is In, I spoke with him a few
min. ago.

All of the ProMini intakes come pre-oiled. If your filter is redish it has been oiled...The first filter is more of an off white color before it is ever oiled. Also examine the metal divider down the side of the filter...you should be able to see a small amount of oil in there. If you have any other questions please don't hesitate to PM me or give us a call at ProMini/BMP design.

one other note - when the filter is oiled it should not be dripping oil - it should only have enough on it to cover the filter element.

Ok...it's definately not off-white. And it smells oily. How do I clean and re-oil it?

sorry i missed your response argo - to reoil it you can order a recharge kit which will last years....you spray on the cleaner and rinse off with a gentle stream of water and let air dry completely..do not use a fan, hair dryer, or compressed air..just normal air dry...then spray on the new oil..but not thick..just enough to cover it..no oil should drip off..if it does you put too much on. Then just put it back on your car.
