Juice Box for the R56

Hi guys,

Just a short introductory note.

We’re a tuning company that specializes in building application specific piggyback systems for forced induction cars. Our main product is the Juice Box Performance Tuner for the BMW 335i / N54, and we’re in the process of expanding that product to other applications, such as the R56.

I placed an order for a pepper white 2008 MCS 6spd w/ posi a few weeks ago, and hope to have the car here in a few more weeks. We will be doing a lot of dyno and track testing along the way, and hope to become a big contributor to the forum.

Our ultimate goal is to provide various stages of plug and play tuners for the R56, ranging from $179-$379, similar to what we do for the N54 market. In addition we will be making O2 simulators for track cars with no cats, and possibly a few other parts depending on what we find is needed during our testing.

You’re all welcome to check out our website to get a feeling for the performance of our N54 products @ www.burgertuning.com

Also if anyone is in the southern California / San Fernando Valley area, I would love to get together for lunch and check your car out. Based on what I’ve seen, the fuel injection system is very similar to the BMW 335i, which will make our job very easy!

Thanks for having us,

Terry, Jon, & Russ

I have a 2005 MCS as well as a 2007 e92 BMW. Terry has helped revolutionize the e92 tuning world with his tuning products, JB1 and JB2. I think that there is also a Split Second Turbo Tuner (SSTT) coming to the market as well.

Hopefully you won't be another "Vishnu" type tuner.

Freakin' yahoo gets in here 6 months ago and gets everyone all excited about the R56 Proceed, and then we never hear from him again.

If you can make that happen, you have my business and anyone else I can convince.

Nuts, why am I always on the wrong coast? Guess it'd be an expensive lunch. Look forward to see what develops.

I'm with you there

I'm very interested in seeing this become a reality, because these are very competitively priced.

Reasonable pricing has always been the key to our business model.

Can't wait to see what you guys come up with on the MINI side of things, Terry; I've been following your work over in the e9X world and it was really quite exciting.

I wonder what ever happened to Shiv, supposedly he stopped research on an R56 piggyback because of problems sourcing ECU connectors. From what I've read he makes a great product too. I wonder if he'll make a return appearance. Hey Terry, how come you got banned over on e90post?

I'm very interested as well. At that price you would be in the same price range as some of the intakes other vendors make...

Thanks guys! I've already started sourcing the various connectors, that seems to be the most challenging part.

Welcome to NAM! The R56 is indeed similar to the N54, there are a few changes of course. The R56 runs 10.5:1 static compression ratio, uses 1st gen GDI [offset injector, not as good fuel dispersion], higher stock boost levels [overboost is about 15.5psig], and only intake-side VANOS.

I look forward to seeing what you guys whip up!
Cheers,
Ryan

What are the other popular R56 tuners running, I imagine 19-20psi?
