BUGGING Jeff RIGHT now to see when he can post it. We did that on Adam's new toy "Lloyd" a few weeks ago and right before AMVIV.

Stay tuned!

THANK YOU!

My car's a lease and while I plan to do a ton to it I don't want to do anything that's not easily reversible. So probably no intercooler. That's why I'm interested in the stock numbers. CAI, sidepipes and tune is the extent of what I'm looking at power wise.

A install tip for the front plug

I found that by plugging the stock plug into the UNIchip plug first and then plugging the harness into the ECU was much easier on the front plug. This combination allows the plug to be verticle much easier than doing the harness and then the stock plug.

I'm leasing mine too and got the intercooler. I'll just switch it back at the end of the lease along with intake, chip, and alot of stereo stuff.

ckbridge - yup, good tip on hooking up the alta plug to the ecu plug before putting the whole thing into the connector. I finally figured that out after messing with it for quite some time back in december.

yep, but you don't need to do that for the two rear most connections. Only the front is tight.

Right, but it just made sense to me to do them all at one. I guess I assumed everyone did it that way. Splitting hairs I guess, as the whole thing only takes a few minutes. At least the second time...

This is true. The mods made to allow the ALTA core to fit, don't prevent the OEM one from going back on.

Nice post!

My opinion would be NOT to do this.

Two things:

1) for the back not necessary as someone else pointed out.

2) Could cause issue aligning the pins into the ECU. Would hate to bend one!

Better to do the plugs from the ALTA PnP ECU into the OEM ECU first.

On the front plug I tug gently on the OEM harness to get more slack in it, then rotate it back and into the ALTA ECU harness. Should be a breeze.

Hope that helps! Thanks to all as always.

Guys and Gals:

The GEN 3 harnesses are ROCKING! None bad yet! So sweet!

Also, we just got in another 50 kits. So we should be able to fill backorders, and some new orders. Ring us up or go online to order!

Just Received my Gen 3 unit today. Will install tomorrow. Thanks Adam and the ALTA girls for the rush to send it.

Adam FYI, I received the replacement electrical box for the boost gauge and its installed and working properly now. Cant wait to see the difference the new ecu makes to the boost.

Presently without ecu, boost gauge showed a peak reading of 16 PSI this evening and I really have not been flogging it. But it sure works!

This car really rocks with all the ALTA Mods without the ecu installed and the technician at the dealer says it is "very fast"

you can even visually see that plugs will connect up much better than previous harnesses....it locks into the oem plugs sooo much better.

I just installed one today. It hooked up much better and the car did see a bit more boost in the aggressive Map. but it is raining today and it's kid of hard to tell on the butt dyno. he is going to drive it a few days and them redyno the car to get some numbers.

Installed the PNP with Gen 3 harness on the wife's AT r56 MCS.

When for a quick 10 minute drive with the Less aggressive map on.

After letting it idle for a while, drove normal staying off the boost to make sure everything was working OK!!.

Did a couple of quick pulls, here are the outcomes:

1st pull:

Had DSC on, Sport button on. As soon as I gave it gas on 1st gear, ASC turn on and limits my boost . saw about 16-17 lbs of boost.

2nd pull:

DSC off, Sport On. On Manual paddle mode.

HOLYYY Crapppp!!, full 1st gear and the majority of 2nd gear all wheelspin due to my foot being planted. Saw peak boost of just over 20 lbs during the middle of the rev range tapering off to around 15-16 towards redline I believe.

I have not tried the aggressive map yet. But I can only imagine.

(This was all done at a private track location)

nope, Alta takes into consideration the mods you have or don't have when they program the aggressive map.

Installed the new Gen 3 harness/ecu today, was raining most of the day but did get in lot of driving close to 150 Miles today on MAP 1. Unfortunately, the dreaded CEL popped up twice today using the aggressive MAP 1. P115D & P0420 codes scanned and cleared via ScanGauge II.

Will call ALTA on Monday. Will give a lil more info on overall experience regarding boost, power delivery on pulling off in 1st gear and boost gauge readings and boost at various speeds well north of 75 with DSC ON and OFF.

Speculating it may be a MAPPING issue rather than a harness issue this time . Need to chat with Jeff @ ALTA

What exhaust do you have? Sounds good.
Boost was nice too.
You know you're banging when you have the whistle

Make another clip without music or talking in the background =) (windows down, in a tunnel haha)

Hey Thanks, It's actually my wife's car.

It's a custom 3" cat-back w/ SS piping with a magnaflow muffler.

I know, not so good clip. Quick clip, was still kinda wet out and a good amount of cars sharing the Private Track.

The noises coming from the turbo sound great. Specially anything over 16 psi, which was the highest we had seen prior to the PNP.

Check out her youtube page for other vids.

Anyone use their new found power at a track?

1/4,1/8,AutoX,Road Course? even 30-70mph pulls (

We're taking the wife's r56 to the nearest track (1/8miletrack) and will post before and after the PNP runs.
