Cooper s pistons

Help needed.
I am trying to find a supplier of high compression pistons to fit the cooper s, around 11.5:1 as I am going to fit Jenvey throttle bodies and ditch the supercharger.
This is for a racing car and forced induction carries a penalty as the cc is multiplied by a factor of 70% taking it over the 2000cc maximum.
Hope you people can steer me towards a supplier.
Best regards

Throttle bodies

All the kit is out there, Jenvey here in the UK can supply the manifold/throttle bodies and all other odd bits needed they don't get involved with ecu programing but my intention is to use a stand alone engine management system such as Omex, Motec are probably the best but at £1800 is as much as the rest of the kit.
The problem I have is finding off the shelf high compression pistons for the cooper s, Woosner did make some for the cooper but have since dicontinued them, they have said they will make them to special order at around £700 a set. SI will probably go to themo unless I can find an alterative

what are you doing with those alain? were you thinking of pulling your SC as well? Are they stock size high dome pistons? are they slighly smaller so they can drop into a stock bore? (as forged call for more clearance).

I know the kit is all out there, but im going to custom build mine, but i will use jenvey bodies. Im going to use emerald m3dk ECU. Its from england as well.

Hi Alain
If its not too much trouble the specs wil be handy to have and what price would they be,I am waiting for some information from a engine tuner in here in the uk but he originally said 11:1 minimum even hiher to make higher power but \i need reliability as well so they could well be what I need.
regards

what in the world is the stock TB doing on there? Did you hook it up so that the action on the stocker would turn the independents, to trick the ecu or something? did you actually have it on, and what was she like to drive? IM assuming that from a mini, it looks like our head, and really looks like a header from our car....

thanks

Looks to be an interesting solution for keping the factory ECU. Might just be able to fool the ECU this way in thinking it's stil stock. Looks wierd, but it's also a good idea for saving $$.

Jason, you lookin at this?

It's from a local rally car. More details here:

Some people's creativity always amazes me!

One thing is for sure: he knows what's the "fastest" color for a race MINI

Me and DrObnxs (sp) discussed using the stepper motor from the stock body to turn the indes, but he didnt think it would have enough torque, cause i thought that would allow me to use the stock ecu for the time being (im still going to need a standalone in the future tho, i think, but jan would be able to tell me if he could tune the ecu to play with the rediculous cam im going to have him grind... hahah I will go read that link Alain, and see what is what.

Haaaa... If you don't think the factory TB has good torque, then try and open it via the butterfly when it's at idle. It'll snap your finger off!
Maybe the Doc has tested this, but I'd bet it has plenty of torque

hmmm, good to know...... I believe it was just an assumption, but maybe he will chime in for sure? Alain, who runs that rig? and can you ask them how well it works? Im assuming you know them, since you said it was a local rally car? and just how local, i would drive a while to see that run in person.... thanks oh, and stop find ways for me to spend money.... hahah. I will still probably put the ecu and bodies on all at once tho, simpler that way.

I don't think he's quite done yet, but he should be out for the first event Feb 9th, if I found the right schedule:

cooper s pistons

Thanks for the extra information I'll check it out.
I live in the southwest of England and currently compete in speed hillclimbing.
My car was built as a challenge car by John Cooper Motorsport.
It has had a lot of development to get to its present specification,240bhp quaife 6 speed c/r dogbox gripper lsd, fully rosejointed suspension the list goes on but you get the idea. It will hit the 7000rpm rev limiter in 6th gear at 118mph. So its pretty quick.
It is a class winning car with over 30 trophies
I have started competing in France but fall foul of the regulations as the only class open to the mini has a maximum engine size of 2000cc they use a factor of 40% because of the supercharger therefore it ends up at 2237.
I was going to sell the car but thought about going the route of throttle bodies and remove the supercharger.
I know I can achieve 180bhp as it has already been done but the project was discontinued when the engine tuner realised that BMW were going to drop the Tritec.
Hillclimbs in France are much longer anything up to 10km on closed public roads instead of the average 1.5 km here in the UK.
180 bhp will make the car competitive in class 2 and the engine tuner says there is more to come.
So theres a history on the car and what it is used for.
