I think the hose you disconnected is just a PCV hose. Can you post a pic or two of what you're trying to take off?

I haven't done one yet, this thread talks about this same problem, but it went unanswered.
Looks like it should just pull out.

That piece you can't get off: If I remember correctly there is a small clip holding it to the tube. You need to depress that, and try twisting the piece if it won't budge (but don't force it to the point of breaking). As far as the disconnected piece, I personally would plug it back in, but I'm no mechanic...

and then you get this!

unsalada: Couple things. First, CALL US, CALL US CALL US! We can always be VERY helpful over the phone in a pinch. My point being, that I have to find this online to help you, vs, a quick phone call!

The largish tube going into the inlet hose is difficult to get out but not impossible. Simply rotate it about 90-120 deg and pull. You can also work it back and forth a bit to help get it out. Shouldn't be a big deal. What I tell clients is to remove it from the Valve Cover first along with the inlet tube and take it out of the car. Then pull it apart. Makes it FAR easier.

Let us know how we can help further. Don't forget our # is 503-222-MINI
