I definately like the sound of the louder one! What do they sound like inside the car?

To all who don't want cutting, DDMworks exhaust bolts onto the stock down pipe.

I found a cat back Borla exhaust on craigslist that looks like a deal.. It has the nice tips and it's a two muffler system. I dont mind a little bit of noise but I DO NOT want to have my car sound like some cheap raced out honda. The system I found is going for 400 bucks.. I might be able to get it for less. Deal or not?

Both pretty mild inside the car. Just a little more deep noise under throttle with the S-Type exhaust.

This is true, but it's removing the factory second cat in order to do that. If you're leaving both factory cats in place, the stock system has to be cut.

sorry to bump an old thread, but im interested in the Borla Catback and have a couple questions...

First off, which one do you like more? the touring or the s-type? Im leaning toward the S-type because i like the louder and more richer sounding clip... but as we all know, youtube can be very deceiving. which one would you recommend?

Also, did you ever get around to getting the car on the dyno to see if there were any changes in performance with the Borla? Im also torn between the borla and the Alta since the alta has been shown to provide more performance with its 3 inch piping but IMHO it doesnt sound as nice as the borla.

I'm planning on going to the Alta grand opening next month so I can check out their turbo-back system first hand. I just really wish you could get that Borla sound & tips with the Alta system.

does the sport Borla have any notable resonance in the cabin while cruising on the highway ? or any more then the regular ?

Just a tiny bit more. I only notice it under some conditions -- like in-gear coasting or part-throttle acceleration.

I did, but the results were a little inconclusive. Basically, it was substantially colder -- like 30 degrees colder -- when I did the new test with the new system, compared to my baselines back in the warmer season. The test showed an improvement (5-7 hp) in raw numbers, but with the SAE correction applied, basically no improvement. But the SAE correction is a little bit of a guess, especially when applied to turbo cars. So I'd say the verdict is out. I was not able to do before and after testing on the same day, with similar temps.

hmm, that makes things a lot more complicated in deciding... I think i will probably go with the borla just based on their reputation as well as the awesome sound.

If you were to pick between the touring and s-type, what would you go with? Im thinking the S-type as from the videos, it was noticeably louder but not annoyingly loud and i feel like i wouldnt be happy with the tourings "quieterness" but i dont want to make the mistake of getting the s-type and it being too loud. Please help!!

I have the S-type on my car for daily use. I'm pretty conservative as these things go, but it's not too loud for me. Nor have any neighbors commented on it or anything.
