Wanted: how to on Clutch, LSD install

Ill be installing a an OBX LSD, clutch and light-weight flywheel within the next month. Has anyone done one of these themselves. I am very mechanically inclined, I hate the haynes Manual for the Mini, I think it could be about 1/3 the size and probably be more understandable.
-Ill be posting a very detailed, "how to" when I do mine.
Also I'm looking for some good deals on decent clutch and flywheel if any of you know of any. I'll probably just get the LSD off ebay, I'm a gambling man, and you just cant beat the OBX price.
(when i get my 15x10 wheels, ill post that up as well)

There are a couple threads, but they lack a complete tutorial. Use the search function. Oh, and i would stay away from cheep OBX components. You don;t wana have to take everything off again....

Sort of how-to https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...52#post1451152 . Contact 002 for user info about the OBX, and as mentioned there are multiple threads about this LSD, flywheel, and clutch vendor recommendations. All steel lightweight flywheels are now more affordable and worth a consideration.

Just be sure when selecting your flywheel/clutch combo to get at least one portion of that combo sprung, otherwise you'll get some chatter...either the flywheel or the clutch.

I just went with a Quaiffe, Clutchmasters lightened flywheel and clutches (stage three) . If you see what goes into doing this, you are a fool to put in anything less than the best parts you can afford. If you cannot afford the good stuff, then wait a while longer. You will be much happier with the end result I promise!

The guy in the middle of all those parts off my car is Waylon. Give him a call. I have done 95% of my own wrenching for years, this is not a task for those of us who cannot call out the size of every dang nut, bolt, & torx on our cars to attempt alone! LOL

Good luck with your venture!

Crrikey---

With the install of a LSD, cruise control will have to be programmed to see both front wheels. Also, hopefully you already drive with DSC off, because the aftermarket LSD may throw a wheel speed sensor fault for the left front wheel. Just a heads up

I have done this job, however I dont have a write-up as of yet. I have been compiling a zillion pix of all my work and when its done I will post up one huge post of the work that I did. I do have a used Spec flywheel and stage 3 clutch forsale that I removed with only 7k miles on it. Its perfectly fine, except it wont hold my power that I will be making so thus the new setup. It will be going cheap if your interested, just pm me.

I just read the whole site before reading this post. I thought to myself, god, I want this guy's opinions on how to mod my car. Makes sense to me that if TSW products pass his inspection, they'll work.

I haven't the slightest idea about changing a clutch, but I read the whole how-to and enjoyed it! Learning is fun

I'm near concord and could give you a hand or advice. It is not a bad job, but it takes time. Expect a few delays for tools and frustration and you'll be fine. The only special tools (that I can think off the top of my head) are a tool to pop the tie rods, remove the belt and a floor style tranny jack. The jack makes it much easier. The first time I did this job I did it on my own without a jack. That transmission is pretty heavy and hard to get a hold of.

Also, consider any other mods or repairs you need while the subframe is out. Replace powersteering fluid/hoses, bushings ( steering rack, mounts or suspension), etc...

The kinda look like JCW brakes with a blue paint job. They don't look like the standard Wilwood caliper (Dynapro) to me.
