Revolution Mini Works (Jan) tuning in Dallas, December 15th
As the subject says...
I've been in contact with Jan and have the dyno all setup.
Location: LG Motorsports Wylie, TX
Time: 8.00 AM until
Cost: Tune is $350 Dyno costs to be split between all participants. We have the dyno booked for 7 hours at a cost of $800. The more people, the lower the cost.
Other Goodies: Will Goodwin will be there to assist with any wrenching needs. We will be splitting the cost of Will too. Figure total costs will be from 500-600.
We need at least 5 people to pull this off. You do not have to have a RMW head or any RMW parts to take advantage of this custom dyno tune. Jan uses Dimsport software to flash the Mini's. He's been having great results with these tunes and these tuning days.
I will post a pre-dyno checklist soon. It behooves all of us participating that certain areas are double checked so we can be efficient on the dyno and not making in the field repairs.
There is a $200 refundable deposit because we want to know you are serious. Please PM me for details.
At this time there are 2 interested Mini's we need at least 3 more.

I hate that I missed the opportunity in Atlanta? Work gets in the way of making it to Dallas so maybe another will pop up close by soon.

What does the tune consist of?, is the ECU re-map, if so what are the difference between this one and the JCW 210 HP?

the tune is custom
we modify the timing and fuel, rpm limiter and traction control to optimize it for YOUR car as each car is different. The factory maps are wide ranging to fit many cars. This one fits your car

I wish I could pull this off--how far is Wylie from Albuquerque...?

Sounds great!, I wish I could make it...maybe for the next one.
And for the lucky ones doing it give us your feed back after the tune is performed.

Yes, I sure hope Jan continues his "Dyno Tune Parties" into the new year, as I checked with my wife and although the 650 miles from Albuquerque is not a problem, the timing before Christmas is, so I'll have to wait for another opportunity. Perhaps Denver, or Phoenix? There's just not enough interest here in Albuquerque for me to put one on--nobody around here seems to give a poop about making their cars go faster. Much more interest in stripes and badges and all that *****. Oh well. I'm certainly putting a Jan-tune at the top of my list of things to do in the New Year.

I picked up about 12whp and about the same in TQ in the upper ranges. TQ curve is flatter than a west Texas ranch.
This was said by a MM.org club member about my car. "Now with the tune the Gnat is even better than last time I got to drive it. It pulls like a plowhorse all the way to 8000 rpm and very smooth."
I'll let the others report on theirs.
