The filter should be wet no more no less. If it is driping, pat it down with a paper towel try not to remove to much oil, just enough to stop the driping.

*edit* Fixing my half sentences.......

I've read that some manufacturers even recognize that the filters come with too much oil when new.

Dripping = WAY too much oil

WE do mention that when you get your new ALTA filter, remove the excess oil with a paper towel or similar prior to installation. When ours are made, they seem to over oil some of them, and it is beneficial to remove the excess prior to installation.

Let me know if I can ever help with any of your modding plans!

Remove the excess oil! If the filter is too wet oil will get into the intake and gum up the mass air flow sensor (MAF) and create erroneous readings for the EEC. The car will run shitty...
