Try a search on 'Turbo Timer' and you'd find this discussion...

Essentially, any turbo charged application could benefit from a turbo timer. However, you can do this yourself without any additional purchase etc. Simply let the car idle for a 30 sec to 2 minute period, OR if you ran the car hard, then cruised off boost through the neighborhood before pulling into the garage is about the same thing. But certainly not a requirement!

Hope that helps!

I get it: This thread is to help me feel stupid! Does the R56 come with a dial like my LG washer? That makes me feel stupid too.

Adam,
What would the benefit be on the turbo timer if the car is going to continue to cool itself after being turned off.
expecting enlightenment

If you dont cool the car off it is said that your oil will be really hot and cake up and stuff... run your car slow around the neighborhood like Adam said and the coolant and oil temps will be lower so it wont cake up as bad. With synthetic oils (and the k03 i really dislike) i dont think its really necessary.
