Pulley Install Question

Hey guys, official Pulley Instal post number 12,358,214 here! I've searched and searched but i had just a couple quick specific questions regarding the install (the instructions are quite broad).

I purchased the Minimania -15% ,3 peice pulley (im sure your familiar).

Edit: I dont think its the self aligning pulley. (which i think is what's pictured) The center hole is the same thickness all the way through

1. When installing the pulley it instructs to gap it .185" , this measurement is taken from the back of the black outer pulley surface, correct? Meaning the rear collar is to be pressed fully to the hub?

2. It also says tighten each bolt to 70 inch pounds, should i really get a torque wrench and be specific or hand tighten it as well as possible without really pushing it?

Sorry to ask a million questions, but everyone seems to know their stuff.

Pic for ref.

1. I'm pretty sure that in the Minimania install instructions it says that you are suppose to measure the distance between the stock pulley and the supercharger casing prior to removal and set the new pulley on the shaft based on this measurement.

2. You should use a torque wrench.

1) This is a picture of the New Mini Mania pulley, these are self aligning, no need to measure, just make sure you run the inner piece all the way onto the shaft before you start tightenning the bolts.

2) the torque specs are a recommendation, based on the size of the bolts, you do not want these loose or too tight.
Do not forget to tighten the bolts in sequence.

hope this helps

Hey EDM...so you did get it! As I recall... there is a gap measurement in the instructions. I really didn't read it though so I don't know what it was referring to. Good luck and hope you like it!

If you have the first generation pulley,
you really need be careful with the gap,
make sure you measure the gap of the old pulley,
then compare to the Mini Mania recommendation.
The goal is to align the pulley, so there is no issues with the belt.
Good luck
