[SIZE=2][FONT=Arial]I currently have a Madness CAI and just started to hear an unfamiliar sound.

When I get the MINI to a higher traveling speed I start to hear sporadic wind-like noise and no longer the supercharger whine noise. The best way to describe this noise is if you were to be traveling on a freeway and you crack your window slightly, you get a loud wind screechy noise. It's like this but under the hood. I'm not sure if this is because there is too much air/wind going through the CAI or if it’s a bigger problem then that.[/FONT]

FWIW, I'm getting that sucking air when at full trottle starting from 2nd gear through all the gear changes with my newly installed M7 DDM. Theh noise is like,,, ssssssssspp, the sound is very pronounced when pressing the peddle and shifting through the gears at high revs. I called M7 and theey told me that it's normal. I didn't have that with my Ultrik CAI, all you heard was the SC whine.

 

Your intake may have a leak. You might want to chech the seals between the tb and the filter to make sure that there are no gaps. Gaps would cause a sound like that I believe.
