M7 Strut tower install review

I just installed the M7 Strut tower brace on my '02 MCS.
i have to say i was expecting to have to tweak the car to install this product. but i'm happy to say it bolted on without a hitch. there was plenty of adjustment with the 4-allen bolts to get everything lined up nicely!
this hasn't been the case with other braces i've installed. another bonus is the plates on top of my Helix/MM camber plates are a perfect sandwhich between my strut towers. nice job M7 .

I really like the exhaust...a little on the quiet side with the resonator...

Not so lucky due to needing to tweak the car with a hammer and 2x4

did you bolt the pieces on the strut tower first and then the two bolts on each side of the brace next??

I had heavy mushrooming on the passenger side that I had to 'adjust' first.

His mod list includes the DDM intake and that's what it looks like in the pic, so he probably just added an m7 logo to it for a little bling. And speaking of "bling", did you check out those brakes!!!

Sounds great, but does it need any mod to install? I only have the WORKS kit for the record.

the blue box is a Sun Automotive Voltage stablizer. it stabilizes the voltage to all the sensors, not peaks or drop offs in voltage.

1st off, very nice looking engine bay.
2nd....How do you like the M.M. water-to-air IC? Have you logged temps before and after wrapping it?

From my profile look for the thread. i talk all about temps. in my opinion it's unbeatable in the arizona heat.

I just installed my M7 Strut Tower brace and I had to beat the hell out of the strut towers to get the M7 to bolt on. I was heavily mushroomed especially on the driver side.

After the beating the Strut bar was easily installed. This is a must have for mini owners imho.

I wish I took pictures. I also had to get a new jack my old one wouldn't fit under the car since it was lowered

I recently installed the M7 STB myself.

The first issue I encountered was with the clearance between the top of the bar and the hood insulation. I could barely close the hood, and when I did, the hood was pushed up at least a 1/4 inch. I was not happy about this on my GP at all. I tried the soak and slam method and that did little if nothing at all. The hood displacement is noticable and unacceptable.

The second issue was completly unexpected. It appears as though one of the plates has bent very slightly on one side.

As of right know the bar piece is sitting on a shelf in our race shop (its good I paid extra for the bar). The plates are still on the car, but I am not happy with the results. M7 has asked me to "take pictures" of the plate that is slightly bent, and has suggested no resolution for the hood displacement issue.

Sorry to hear things did not go well with your install.
