Got a dragging/slipping problem with my new performance clutch .

Ive had a new clutchmaster fx300 clutch kit fitted and have now done over 650miles to try and bed it in.The problem is ,when i pull away hard from a stand still it seems to not totaly engage like sort of drag/slip as you go from gear to gear. The same happens when i enter a motorway(freeway to you guys) and accelerate hard up through the gears ,it just seems to slip/drag slightly and not totaly give you the full power you would get if it were totaly locked on.Is there anyway this can be a release problem with the clutch slave cylender etc.I realy dont want to have to remove the gearbox again.Oh and the fidenza flywheel had a new friction plate fitted and it was cleaned first with brake cleaner.

I just put the same clutch in my car with the clutch master flywheel.

Did you have the problem from the start or did this happen after you broke it in??

Something is messed up. Either you screwed it up during break-in [like spraying it or riding it in traffic] or you got a defective piece. I can tell you from experience this clutch is freaking amazing, and a proverbial light switch. There is not supposed to be any hesitation or weirdness. From your other posts it sounds like you glazed it.

we have sold over 15 of these clutches already and this is the only one experiencing this problem. Then again this is the only one running a NON Clutchmaster flywheel too.

Did you stick with a factory flywheel or did you go aftermarket?
I know of a local case where an installer put a lightweight flywheel in a car and left out a spacer washer/thing. That caused the clutch to not engage properly and slip.

Paul,

You are NOT helping matters

After talking to Jamie more I believe he has a "spacing" issue with the fidanza. If you really want to help why don't you go over to his place and drop the tranny with him...

I always give Jamie a help over the phone and he's more than welcome to come up here and put it on the ramp and compare them to ours.

Or he can still come up to Shakey at the weekend and we can have a look and a drive for a second opinion before he rips it out.

Where is the bite point on the pedal Jamie??

clutch actualy starts to bite about 1/4 the way up from the floor ,and if you pull the handbrake up and slowly release the clutch with a few revs it bites and stalls, same in reverse.so its obviously clamping pretty well.
