Drivetrain Project MSFITOY Part 2...
Still here kids...
It's been a while since I last posted but here's the update...I survived the slash and burn at Government Motors but lost my company car...I'M SO HAPPY!...so sick and tired of driving 5000lb SUVs that made my commute a PIA...long story short, they gave me a GM voucher...so I bought the most affordable car we make that HAS a pedigree (held the Ring record for a while)...an 09 Cobalt SS/TC
Let me get on my flame suit before I continue...
Honestly, never in my life would I have entertained this idea...but life has ways of steering you in directions you'd least expect...and guess what? I'm really starting to become to attached to Msfitoy's new garage mate...don't worry, she still gets all the attention she deserves...
So you might wonder why this is not just another Cobalt? Let's just say the bottom line is that this Cobalt is now running 23psi and lays down 327whp/353wtq...that's what I call fun...
Of course, the devil's in the detail...

Oh don't worry...Msfitoy is clean and taking a well deserved break for a while...she's put on 85,000+ glorious miles and am destined for a full refresh in the near future
Looks NICE. I don't know what it is, but I love the Cobalt SS ... I know, sacrilege. I got a chance to drive one at a Chevy event in Florida (they were showing off the concept Camaro at the time) - and I thought it drove superbly. In fact, comparing the short drives I have had of both, I think the suspension/handling was superior in feel to that of the Mazdaspeed 3. And I didn't think the interior was typically cheap either, in fact I thought it was fairly nice. Congrats on the car, hope you enjoy it! It sounds like a screamer.
The newer body style helps this car a lot. First production models were uh???? like "well she has a great personality".
I'm still scanning the pics for a finger print or something : )
Nice ride Sid

The best news, post 1051, Sid, you still have a job!
GM gave you an SUV company car, was it green? At least the color?
The Cobalt is a hell of a car. With direct injection there's potential to produce some big numbers. Your only mistake was BLACK. Everything I owned, with the exception of a 54 Ford, was black ( changed to dark blue 1975 = not much better ). I still have a nice gloss black lawn mower, yes with some chrome. Don't get me wrong, black is BOSS....... but.... I hate dirt, dust, mud, any of the stuff that, tastefully, won't go with black. The goodness of black requires a truely commited car guy and now you're him.
Talk about people that haven't posted for a while, Obehave, what's up?

One of the best choices you could have made at GM for a real everyday type car. VERY nice power numbers, I knew they would be beasts. Hopefully it comes with some sore of mechanical LSD??
I didn't even know anyone was looking at this thread anymore until Bart told me lol...what happened to my subscription notice?
Anyway...thanks guys...glad I didn't offend anyone here with a Chevy

very nice ride new respect for gov't motors . the dash dac . does it plug to dme or do you have splices to all those outputs ? if the latter you did a nice job cause i see no wires under hood . wide band 02 sensor ? yes ? all new to me but looks really useful and s o compact as apposed to lots of gauges .
lol...you noticed
Don't ya just love technology? If this had been around, I wouldn't be using Auterra...
It plugs right into the OBD...very clean install and I can take it all off in a few minutes...and it's got Navteq Nav...same as in the Mini
Next year the plans may be to upgrade to stage 3 clutch, larger turbo and CO...after that, we'll turn up the boost to 30 or more with a new tune adjustment and should be comfortably well over 400whp range...maybe...

Yah...too bad Mini doesn't have wideband...
I had posted something about the DashSad, but upon closer inspection of the thread found my answer so as not to be redundant I edited it, sorry, should have clarified.
