m7 ags/vgs wanted!!

hi all, im new to this forum as this being my first post. and just wanted to ask if anyone on here with an ags/vgs (dont know the difference) system would be willing to sell. i have an 06 mini cooper S and ive spoke to peter at m7 tuning, he said that there not making them anymore nor could they make a special order up or source one. so i thought id ask if anyone had a complete system for sale heatshield included and possibly instructions looking for the v3 version. !!name your price!! bit of a perfectionist, so looking for a mint condition one if possible. many thanks. kirk

Check out Minis in General / Marketplace. You may have better luck posting a WTB in that forum.

We (Custom Mini Shop) are looking into having the AGS manufactured again. We believe there is still enough interest in this product to bring it back and we are talking to several local fabricators about cost. We are also going the change the tube design (if possible) to allow for better clearance of the air filter. None of this is going to be cheap so it would be nice to know if there is enough interest to make a large enough run to keep the price down. We also have M7's blessing for this.

This would be the complete kit including the heat shield. It will take a couple months before we are ready, if it's a go. We know how much the parts will cost, just not the labor to weld it all together.

Too much work to produce for the amount of profit.

I would be interested if the price was right...I now it is not cheap, but still this is a big investment for an air intake. This has always been my favorite though.

hi steve, when you say you need a couple of months to be ready, do you mean before you can start or until you could have one produced?

All i can say is that the M7 AGS V.3 is a great part, when i found out that they were not gonna make it no more i was heart broken but i was determined to find one so i made as many phone calls as i could to see if i could dig one up and my last hope was ESM HAWAII (great guy by the way) and once i got ahold of him he told me he had just taken the V.3 off of his personal car to go turbo only, so i told him name a price and i will pay it...... so what he did was combine the AGS V.2 kit with the V.3 tube and sold it to me like that i am almost sure he still has some V.1 and V.2 kits available but dont hold me to that, anyways if you could find one i recomend paying any price because the sound is so so so so........ there are no words to describe it...... it scares most people were i live.

I posted this question to members that have installed the AGS in another thread about the effects/HP gains and still no one has replied.

So again, if anyone has done this mod, can you share with us the info on the performance gains you have witnessed if any? I'm sure the sound of the air sucking in is great but what about the performance? How much of a gain are we talking about here with this mod?

Thank you

As a proud owner of the AGS V.3 all i can say is WOW, after installing it the butt dyno was very impressed, but i am not the type of guy that dynos my car and since i am 15 and dont even have my liscence yet, this part has really got me trying to break the law and drive it, but everyone that has drivin my car says that they can feel the difference and they LOVE the sound.
