HELP!! - Apexi II

Hello All,

In a desperate bind and need a little help!

Having just fitted a twin charger with 440cc injectors I can't seem to get the injectors to deliver enough fuel.

I am using the Apexi II piggy back and even with the A/F set at +40% the car still runs very lean, especially at high revs.

I would have thought the injectors were big enough? If not will simply fitting bigger ones help? Although I'm not keen on fitting too big as I don't want to ruin low end driving too much!

Is there anyway of controlling the fuel delivery that I am missing?

Any help or suggestions would be more than welcome.

Thanks in advance, Mark

What I fear from a piggy back is after you adjust it learning around the adjustment ie: you add 40% its senses the mixture and thus removes some fuel to compensate. Just a guess to help get your gear turning on this.

440s are plenty big enough. The Apexi II should segregate the AF from the ECU.
By the way what is the AF at the high end? Are you using a wide band O2 sensor? If so is it up stream or down stream? As long as it's not above 12 you should be safe.

12.0:1 on a twin charge will surely pop your motor... TOO MUCH HEAT to run that on pump. at least safely. if you havent replaced your pisotns you will if run at 12:1 on pump. Seriously... do not run 12:1 ON A TWIN CHARGE SET UP. You can run that on a supercharged car... but not twin. There is WAY to much cylinder pressure.

How much boost are you running?

Also, your afc is likely NOT wired in correctly. The adjustments that are being made on your afc are not making it to the ecu. Check all your wires and remember to cut the wires do not simply splic into the signal wire. YOU MUST cut it.

^^^^

Listen closely to that advise. I would NEVER run 12:1 with the boost you typically push twin-charged. Another good question is, what wideband are you using? Did you calibrate it correctly? Was it wired to heat the sensor before you fired the car up the first time?? That is an excellent way to eff you sensor from the get go (ask me how I know, LOL!)

I agree with Justin too that you Apexi is not wired properly.

And find a good tuner to help you pull this all together.

I know RMW has CP pistons in stock. They are the best you can get and I think they sell them for $599.00 a set

I agree CP makes great pistons. I would argue that my Fireballed ones are just as good though. Proven in a 600whp application and used on several 300+whp setups so far that I know of......You can't go wrong with the CP's though...Pepsi vs Coke kinda decision....
