Drivetrain help installing boost controller
help installing boost controller
Hi!
In nearer future I want to install a boost controller on my fjcw.
I´m thinking of the apexi avc-r.
Has someone experience in installing this on a r56?
The vc-r comes with a solenoid and an sensor as shown here:

I think I have to use the solenoid instead of the oem wastegate control unit under the intake manifold. So do I have to leave the oem unit electrically installed (just transfer the vacuum hoses to the apexi unit) due to have no cels?
The sensor I think I have to install at the intake manifold.
Some things are not clear for me yet:
For example:
The apexi boost controler will tell the wastegate to set 1,3 bar at a certain rpm and gear.
The ECU recognize 1,3 bar at the oem map sensor and tries to regulate the wastegate through the oem unit which is still connected electically but not mechanically. The oem map sensor tells the ecu that the boost ist still 1,3bar. I think that must throw a cel because the ecu thinks the oem boost control is damaged etc..
Its difficult for me to write this in englisch, nevertheless I hope you got what I mean.
Or maybe I just got something wrong and have a mistake in my logic.
Greets, Tom
