Drivetrain The absolute truth on the Powerchip programming...
>>I'm a little perplexed, just checked out the link, clicked on '02 pulley/chip and it says $990.00, did I miss something? Oh well, I've got the 3:30 on Friday with Randy for the Pulley/Chip install and should be hunting some open motoring spaces by evening.....oooh yeah.

Double check whether they're talking abour US dollars or Austrailian Dollars.
I tried that link and ended up on an order page that collected info. on my year and model MINI. Then asked for my email address so they could mail me specific information on performance gains and *price*. IOW, I couldn't even get a price off the website.
I haven't seriously looked into this for myself, because I'm just not interested at $990, or at $740, or at $640. Call me cheap, but I probably won't start to get interested in an ECU upgrade unless the price is below $300. I'm also waiting for someone to find a secure way to email the installation software and programming, so I can easily re-flash my ECU if the dealer "upgrades" me during service. Otherwise, $990 worth of software is gone in a flash and, even with vendor support, I've got to to throught the whole down time and delivery nosebleed to get it back. For now, I'd rather spend those dollars on hardware.
