I run BFG Rivals, 215/45/R17, last time out heated up nicely and ran well. Once I get brake sorted will be able to push them.

that is no better than the re71r for life and those are more expensive I'm going to get 5 or 6 days out of these, I'm going to run them till they cord

I haven't kept close count, but I think I can squeeze around 10 events on a set.

Worthless in the rain!! Don't even think about running them with any precip on the track!! Designed for dry conditions ONLY!

That seems to be a wide wheel for those tires. Tire Rack lists 7.5" as the max rim width for those tires.

I'm expecting to get 10 to 15 days out of my RE71Rs.

I would expect a Rcomp tire, like the RC-1s, to wear out even faster than the Bridgestones.

12 autocross runs over 2 days and 3 days of HPDE so far, I think I can get another day or two out of them now that I have stiff springs and less body roll

Today was the last official event of the 'summer' track season. I didn't go, as my tires never would have warmed up sufficiently (28 degrees this morning). If anyone went, would appreciate a quick report on how the day went. Track MINI and Classic Mini under wraps in hibernation mode in the garage til next spring...

Nope. Had a somewhat of a quiet day removing leaves. The car is slowly getting into winter mode; roof racks and rubber floor mats will go on/in shortly. The track tires are in the basement and snows are in the garage waiting to be put on. I will be at Stowe the first weekend of Dec for cheap skiing.

I do wonder how the RE71S would fair in the colder weather for a track day as compared to the the Rcomps? I think a 28 deg day is even too cold for them.

Years ago I went to one of the November days. It was in the 40s all day and summer performance tires are not happy when it's that cold. So I decided to make my cutoff mid-October. I would rather drive in summer rain than 40-degree weather in late fall.

Ya, that's what you would get off Tire Rack's tech page. Rcomps can be damaged, crack, etc if run that cold.

Did a Halloween track day (TT) event back in '08 with EMRA at LRP......damp, cool day. Lost FTD to a somewhat prepped C5 Corvette by .5secs and I was on A6's. Fun times with Rcomps and cold weather!

I think S-Driver could run Rcomps while it is snowing and his tires would have no problem getting up to temp!

we run in the winter and off in the summer, too hot! I did another autocross and VIR yesterday, just one session these tires are wearing better now

I think I'm just gonna avoid NCCAR that place is too hard on tires with the giant constant radius turns now that I have my camber and springs worked out they are wearing a lot better

Winter wonderland this morning! I spotted a pair of passes to Killington for $50 total, but they have to be used by November 28th. Anybody interested in joining me? They only have 4 trails open as of this morning, but it is snowing there and they probably will have several more open after today...

Oooofffaa - they are probably going to be good but I am booked with Thanksgiving and preparations for the first weekend in December up at Stowe. I will be hosting the weekend at our club's house up there.

Hey, all, have a Happy Thanksgiving

Remember running my Classic Mini in the SCCA race at Nelson Ledges, OH for their Halloween Weekend race. It was so cold in the morning we had to scrape ice off the Mini's windshield. Starting the car with the Weber carbs was next to impossible. We had to pull the plugs, heat them under a blow torch, reinstall them, and then warm up the engine like, forever, to get any oil temp. Think I got a second place that year. Good times.

Drive Hard. Drive Safe. Keep Grinning.

I would have thought that the Weber would have been better than the twin SUs I had on my MGA. That car was bad anytime it was below 25 deg.

I've seen classic Minis race at LRP at their vintage fest. They are crazy out there.
Never that cold though on Labor Day.
