GKP - I have the set of 17" rims I originally bought to first go autox'ng with....then track, then basically nothing. Two of them have road rash from my little "off" I had on the way to NJMP in that biblical snowstorm we had in Oct '11. A little sanding and then Plasti Dip and they should be good for a winter set....
Right now a set of original Falken Zeni's are still mounted and they are in good shape, could use as a nice summer tire. I was literally just thinking of putting them on CL. Let me know if your interested....
Send me a pic. I decided to not let the 16" winter wheels drive the bus. Anybody need a set of white 16" wheels with good winter runflat rubber?
There was an ad recently for his Mini for sale. I am sorry to hear about this, he was definitely a great guy and I can say his organization is top notch. I am glad to see it will continue.
Say, you enjoy!
I'm actually in the process of prepping my car for my upcoming track day. Sooooo, I'm going to miss it.
Are you guys talking about the F1 race in Singapore? Or somewhere else? The Singapore race is about sgd $200 for general admin. And that is not even the outer nose bleed bleachers.
FWIW, I joined the Palmer Motorsports Driver Club this year - first member day is next Thursday!! I plan to primarily track my Mini there, and as I've been saying all year, I'm about one spilled cup of coffee away from gutting it and installing a roll cage. I'll work up to tracking my other cars as the season progresses...

What's the deal with this "club"? Cost? Advantages? Access to instructors? Or at least a link to that info.
At any rate, have fun and let us know how it goes.
As for turning your MINI into a full fledged track car - I have seen a few and nicely done at that. Hmmmm is that spilled coffee I see? LOL
I bought in with a premium/founding membership ($20k initiation + $2500/yr annual) which gets 30+ days access to the track per season, ability to bring a guest driver (some restrictions apply), non-driving guests, access to all of the track facilities (covered garage space, etc), and all prioritized based on member number. Pro instructors are available at $500/day. There is a lower level membership that caps you at 10 days per season (IIRC).
I went last Thursday and brought my cousin as a guest driver (he has an '84 911). It was the first day of the calendar and a mid-week day at that, so there were only 3 other cars that took to the track at all. Basically, we had it to ourselves and worked with an instructor all day long. I calculated that I got in somewhere around 50-60 laps (but I wasn't counting). That's 50+ laps with zero track traffic, totally on our schedule, etc. I loved it and cannot wait to go again!
Eddie07S — Did you buy the Wilwood rear calipers? Or do you still use the OEMs?
I stayed with the stock rear calipers, that is all you need. A lot of people run the stock pads too. I run the Carbotech XP8s. They will last about 2 years maybe 3, and I leave them in for the summer. I take them out in the fall and put the stock ones in for the winter. The XP8s are fine on the street, no noise but dusty (about the same as the stock ones).
So you taking the dive and getting a BBK for the fronts?
