These two will go at in April at New England Dragway - Both have launch control and are all wheel drive
The question is can the much lighter Mini get the jump and hold off the Jeep at the big end where HP takes over

 

At low speed, power/weight.
Jeep 500/5430 = 0.099
MINI 305/3420 = 0.089
Advantage: Jeep.

At high speed, power/(Cd*A).
Jeep has 64% more power than the MINI.
Jeep Cd 0.371
Can't find one for the MINI, but it certainly doesn't look any less aero.

All on paper, though.
Jeep frontal area WxH = 77.1 x 67.6 = 5211 in²
MINI frontal area WxH = 70.9 x 56.7 = 4020 in²
Jeep has only 30% more frontal area than the MINI.

I'd say the Jeep is likely to stay ahead all the way through, unless it's traction limited.

 

One thing the Mini has more low end torque than Jeep due to Turbo versus NA and with the lighter weight and launch control It would seem it would have a better 60ft but we will find out for sure in April

 

Considering most magazines are getting around 13.5 with the JCW, I think the jeep is safe...
