Slick vs Hydro
Slick vs Hydro
A couple months back I purchased Slick and Hydro and got my first opportunity to use them.
My question is when would I use Slick as compared to Hydro. Should I only use Hydro after a wash and while wet?
I tried a small section with Hydro and Slick and found the Hydro to be easier to work with and a little better shine (Both looked great).
PS The car looks amazing.

You can use Hydro wet or dry. Keep in mind that it's very concentrated for wet use (so the rinse water remaining on the car dilutes it) - so use it sparingly when dry, and only on a CLEAN car.
Slick has more lifting properties to remove dust, bugs, etc. as a quick detailer. Hydro has longer lasting shine and more sealing properties than Slick.
I use Slick as my daily (or every couple of days) QD, and use Hydro as part of the dry cycle after every wash. That works well for me and keeps my Epic shine and protection lasting a long, long time. But others use Hydro dry as a QD with good results - just don't expect it to lift dust and stuff as well as Slick can.

i agree with blimey. you can't really replace one for the other as each
has its own strengths. from my experiment, i can confirm that slick
has much better lifting capabilities than hydro.
for my daily driven cars i don't use QD, so i will continue to get hydro
until Refresh is released.
(Refresh is kenchan's imaginary name for the next gen slick with less shine)

However, we do hope to develop something like this some day soon. We're also trying to hire Ken to be part of our official product develpment team.

more sugar coating" or "Cap'n Crunch with sugar cubes in your mouth."
Somethings like a freshly waxed paint finish should not be tampered with.

BTW Heather, if this means free product, you can count me in

on cars where carnauba was doing almost nothing as far as reflection,
Hydro/Epic brought depth and a nice wet gloss. imho you dont want
to tamper with that rich color.
its like fiddling around with your EQ on your stereo. say "shine" is
your sound's higher frequencies (treble), when you add too much treble
you loose the overall thickness/richness of the sound.
same thing with paint. you make your car shiny you loose the depth.
where as Infinity speakers are like Zaino and slick. boosted for brilliance.
.... well, kinda.
of course, with cool blue metallic, I'm not really sure whether "deep" or "slick" is better (or in fact if there is much difference). But maybe I'm just a moron. OK, you caught me. I AM a moron. But I don't know if that means I'm clueless in this case or not?
blue civic. bascially a color that hides dust. i use Hydro for the depth
and wetness.

I want to see my reflection in the paint. Is that "shine" or depth?
