How to remove soda pop from paint??

I couldn't avoid hitting a runaway 2-Liter of soda yesterday (and Boy, did it explode!) and now I have sticky residue (beaded into stickly little circles) on my paint and clear bra. What's the beast way to remove it? I tried Meguiars detailing spray with MF but that had little effect. Thought about trying clay but before I go buy some I thought I would enquire here first.

Thanks

Well I know it sounds simplistic... but I'd just wash the car.
Soap takes soda out of clothes, why not off a car?

Simple soap and water is what you will need to start with. Water will dissolve the sugary mess, but oil-based cleaners wont. After completely cleaning the car, use your favorite wax to finish up and to replace any wax that the soda might have washed off.

Why didn't I think of that? Overthinking the problem...

if it still doesn't come off, use warm water.

Amazing how simple that was...came right off with warm sop and water. I just figured if a detailer wouldn't work, washing wouldn't...

Oh, good! Now I can laugh!!! Because I have this mental image of the pop bottle hitting your car and just exploding, and the look on your face like, "What the **** was that?" as there are droplets of pop EVERYWHERE.

Anyone remember the MINI ad with the soda can? Shows a MINI slicing it's way through tight city driving, alleyways, rough roads, avoiding jams, lots of motion. A light turns red, the driver still smiling from all the motoring comes to a stop, pulls out a can of pop from the cupholder, goes to open it and the scene cuts to a view of the car from outside who's windows instantly become obscured by soda pop foam as a muted 'boom' is heard from inside the car. The light turns green, a hand is seen wiping the foam from the windcreen and the motoring continues.

MINI. Let's Motor.

i remember back like 10yrs ago some little girl tossed out a can of pop
from her dad's car window while going like 45mph. the can didn't hit my
car but was close enough that it got sprayed. this was on my hobby car
at the time...it was a VERY sticky mess.

the next traffic light i talked to her dad about wat she just did.
dad looked at me with wide eyes (their terminology) and said
'oh well~.'

oh well?!!!

Wanna - Ben threw a soda can at me yesterday - you can keep your apology but I will take the new car thank you!

but the requirement is that you need 3 witnesses to verify this happened. (and not imagox polishing while watching tv and drinking pop)

We just call everything a "Coke".
But I'm drinking a Guinness right now, so no Coke for me thanks.

Yeah, I do say 'soda', but 'pop' was both easier to type and a bit more indicative of what was to occur next.

I'm gonna jack this thread for alittle...

How would one remove soda from the leather on the seats in the interior?
