Hesitant about first detailing...advice?
With just barely a 1,000 miles on your car you do not need to be using a 'cleaning' type wax and definately do not need to be using a clay bar this early in the game. If you want to know the best way to start off with cleaning a car with just 1,000 miles on it go to:

Mgear - I respectfully disagree. I got my car (demo) with 4K miles on it but more importantly after it had only been built for 4 months. The clay bar worked absolute wonders to the body. WONDERS! The bar had a light gray hue to it by the time I was done and the feeling of the smoothness of the body was a complete improve over it before. I did this in June and the body is still silky smooth. It doesn't matter how old the car is in my opinion, a clay bar will work magic to your vehicle.
To test this, you should really find someone who has clay'd their car recently and run your fingers along it (hopefully it's clean). Alternatively, just do one section of the car and see what you think...like the bonnet for example.
That is a great website he posted....check it out.
