303 on the inside?
Hi All,
Does anyone uses 303 Protectant on the interior vinyl and dash etc.? I want to dive in and use it, but would feel more comfortable if someone else has prior experience (big chicken, I know).
Thanks a bunch,
Raven

303 is a great product for inside and out applications on vinyl, leather, flat plastics surfaces (not for suede or fibrous materials of course). It helps clean, condition, and provides UV protection as well as giving the the surface a smooth matte finish. Unlike the slippery or oily look of Armor All products which happen to degrade or crack the material over a long period of use.
Give it a try and see, it won't hurt...I promise.

303 works excellent on interior plastics, just like exterior plastics. I spray a small amount on a microfiber, and rub it into the dash, doors, and center console. I'll let it sit for a few seconds, then buff off for a discreet satin look.
Use it, you'll Love it

I've been using it on the interior and black exterior bits since last September and my MINI still looks new. I don't have leatherette, but I think it'd be great for it. I got mine through Proper Auto Care. They're in Tampa and have a great site for tips on detailing. Check out Autopia for even more advice.

Here's a couple of websites:

I've found that spraying it onto a small sponge is the easiest way to apply. Rub it on, then buff off with a dry rag/towel.
If you are looking for places to buy it, you'll have the best luck at marine shops, not car shops. It's mainly used for marine (boat) purposes.

Just used 303 for the first time and this stuff is AMAZING! Exterior plastic went from dull and nearly grayish to a deep, satiny black in seconds! Thanks to all of you who recommended it. In Michigan you can get it at Murray's Auto Supply for around $7-$12 depending on the size of the bottle.
After putting on the 303 Aerospace Protectant all over the interior of MINI (5 days have passed), it still looks like fresh satin. I took pics for those who haven't tried this products in their MINI interiors. I put the 303 on the leather as well. See...
Just make sure to towel off any excess 303 especially on the leather. I had to use two clean terry cloth towels after applying the product.

>>Can you use it on the silver door panels and downtubes as well?
Yes, any plastic, vinyl, non-fibrous leather, or rubber. I actually use it every week after washing Junior on her fender wells, tires, and weather stripping. Make sure to use a terry cloth or microfiber towel on the surface you've just treated with 303.

Am I asking for trouble down the road? I use 303 on *EVERYTHING* except cloth, and the front windshield (the windshield gets Rain-x). Meaning, I use it on the paint too. While it does not specifically say painted metal on the label, so much of the MINI is painted or colored plastic, I figure why not. It makes it a lot easier to treat the wheel wells and side vent when you don’t have to worry about not getting it on the paint too. It does take a bit of buffing on the paint to get the oily swirls out, but it seems to be excellent at repelling dirt and dust. Our MINI looks clean even after driving it in the rain. Anyone know of a reason not to continue using this on the paint? Thanks for any advice.
hmmm...i really don't have an answer. but i have heard that armor all can cause some swirly marks or other on your paint if applied in excess amount on your tires. i guess when the excess washes off and gets spun onto your paint at high speeds or thru puddles and stuff. now i know armor all is not the same thing as 303, but that kinda makes me hesitant to use it on my paint.
for my paint, i just got a bottle of the rejex from corrosion-x. i originally got it to help with my upkeep of my wheels between washings. it works great. dirt is easy off now. but the bottle says you can also use it on the paint, like a wax protectant. had some reviews supposedly in car and driver, which raved about its protective ability for car paints. haven't used it yet on the paint, but will very soon try it on my bonnet.

FYI everyone, I was just at my local EMS picking up a few camping items, and ran across 303 protectant there! I had been waffling about whether to suck it up and pay shipping to get it online, so I picked it up - $8. Haven't used it yet, but I'm looking forward to it!
