if it's really dirty i use Griot's InteriorCleaner and finish off with Prima Nero
for a very matte new looking fresh finish.

griot's interior cleaner is very efficient stuff. Nothing is left after you spray it on, and it seems to evaporate fairly quickly which is a good thing for doing a fast job.

I think 90% of the time im cleaning off my own vinyl treatment vs dirt, but thats the only way to go.
EXCEPT!

octaneguy said something great about a meguiars all in one spray that he has begun to use professionally. Sounds like a more realistic approach, the speedier the process the more often you ll clean i say.

I love Meguiar's Quik Interior Detailer. Nice lemon scent and can be sprayed on all interior surfaces--vinyl, plastic, gauges, head unit. Leaves no residue behind--matte finish. Removes scuff marks--spray on a MF or terry towel, and rub scuff or fingerprints.

I am so ashamed to ask this...I know that's a brand you can buy locally...I found one Meguiar's product at Target.

What are the other places? That might have more than ONE Meguiar product? Or do you buy them online...

I want to try this!!
Thanks for the help...

Don't be silly--no reason to be ashamed!

You can buy from Autozone, Pep Boys, Walmart, Target--or if none of them work out---you can buy from either Meguiars.com or www.AutoDetailingSolutions.com

Aggie, I likes to browse O'Reilly's when I feel the need to shop for car stuff. The one near me carries a lot of Meguiar's products. I think that's where I got my bottle of interior cleaner. The guys who work there aren't so bad neither.

Absolutely, BatGirl. Parking lots from hell. Lots of BIG pick-em-up trucks. The kind with the oversized bumpers that could crush a Mini in a Minute.

+1, I love this stuff. It took some black fingerprints off my gray headliner with hardly any effort.

We haven't had either MINI long enough to need it, but I have a 35-year old Mercedes that had a lot of embedded "hand salsa" on the windowsills and door pulls. I didn't have much luck with soap/water, Westley's Vinyl Cleaner or Griot's Interior Cleaner, but a Mr. Clean "Magic Eraser" took the gunk right off.

I know that the "scrubbie" side of the Magic Eraser is slightly abrasive, but it didn't hurt the vinyl, and since I only need it when I'm dealing with a car that's been neglected for years, I don't forsee ever having to use it twice on the same spot.

I can't remember what I used to get 11-years worth of grunge off the interior of the Volvo when I detailed it getting it ready to sell. It's hailing outside right now, so I'm not about to go out to the garage to check on what I used. Will check tomorrow and post. It really did a nice job of cleaning old dog slobbers off the vinyl on the doors.

Finally.... It's a great day in the neighborhood. The sun is shining, no more hail/sleet, and the temperature is moving up to the 60s..... I used Vinylex to clean the vinyl on the interior of my old Volvo. It did a great job removing the grunge and left a satiny clean finish. Smells good too. You might want to check with OctaneGuy for a second opinion since I don't know how this product will protect for a long time.
