I Love to cook, but...

hate cleaning the stove top spattered with grease. I had a little accident the other day and was faced with cleaning up the mess this morning when the "light bulb" went off. Out to the garage for two micro fiber towels and my trusty Dawn. I had been dealing with this problem in all the wrongs ways, so I "detailed" it and it a few minutes that baby was glistening.

Next week new wheels and tires for that baby...

Kewl,
that will save time and headaches. I detail my shower walls. Cleaning the shower is a breeze now. Good idea about the stove. I will have to try it.

i cook all the time and my weapon of choice is Windex and paper towels.

no car stuff in the kitchen... well, other than Slick on spagetti, but
that's a spice.

Actually, Slick does wonders on stainless steel appliances too! (so it's not just a spice afterall ). It does pretty well on black kitchen stuff too. I use it all over our kitchen!

Windex and paper towels used to be my choice for light cleanup tasks but now that I have detailed the range, I'm afraid to use Windex on the waxed surface. Car wash shampoo seems to be working great and the microfiber leaves no streaks.

The Windex and paper towels probably works very well on the new smooth glass cook-tops but not on the conventional gas range.

^^ mine is a conventional gas range. as with toilets and baths, it is
easiest to clean while the unit is clean...

clean it on a schedule, not when it gets dirty. by that time, it's too late.

That would be great if I could get the people who use the stove the most to do exactly as you say - clean as you go... by the time I get there it is a total disaster area.
