A dog jumped up on my car

There are a few scratches, but not all the way down to the paint. Any tips?

Assuming the dog is not yours ... find the owner and teach him a few tricks!

If they are deep you will need a rotary buffer--hire a pro. I've recovered several MINIs from dog and cat scratches, and it's not hard, but it does require someone with experience.

I would try ScratchX first, there's a good chance the scratches aren't deep and can be removed easily.

Thanks. They aren't very deep - just on the top clear coat layer. I can barely feel them with my fingertips. It was my brother's dog, not mine. I don't blame the dog - it was an accident. I'm just glad my brother keeps her nails trimmed fairly short! It could have been a lot worse.

They look more like the second shot - they don't show any white like the first picture.

I didn't notice them at first, it was only in direct sunlight and even then I noticed the paw prints before the scratches.

If that's so, then you might be able to fix it by hand using a product like Meguiar's scratchX. If you have a PC, try DP's Prima Cut or Swirl. Swirl is probably too fine to fix them though.

If you go the ScratchX route, check out my site
www.ShowCarGarage.com and watch the ScratchX video.

glue meat on the door, sit in car with sawed off double barrel shotgun, wait for rover to pounce. The hole in the door will be worth the body work.
