Clay on bonnet stripes?

I've used the clay compound on all of my cars but yet to use it on our new MCSa. We have bonnet stripes - is there anything I need to know about using clay on the stripes? Wasn't sure if the clay or Griot's Speed Shine would cause any problems.

Thanks for the assist.

Word to the wise: If you use clay on the bonnet stripes (or vinyl decals of any kind, I'm sure), rinse them off very quickly after you've gone over them with the clay. Otherwise, you're going to have some streaks that are nearly impossible to get off.

Yes, I speak from experience. Get within two feet of my stripes and you'll see what I mean. I learned that lesson on the CR MC... the PW MC's stripes still look great because I rinsed them immediately after the clay.

^^ don't clay your bonnet stripes then. but you can polish them.
i used Griots Polish3 and cleaned up the haze i had on them very nicely.

You can polish them but I wouldn't clay them. The vinyl is a lot softer than paint!

Just ordered the polish bundle from Prima (Cut, Swirl, Finish, Amigo). What polish would be best. I'm thinking the lower end of the abrasiveness scale - maybe the Finish?

Either Amigo or Finish will be fine. Since I don't have Finish I personally polish my stripes with Amigo (which is about equal to finish as far as abrasiveness, just Amigo has fillers).
