So I finally got the chance to try this stuff (but only had time to get half my car done, haha), and HOLY CRAP, does my little commuter look GREAT! I wish I'd taken "before" pics!

And whoever said "use VERY little" was right on - I'd use about a dime-sized amount on a Griot's red pad to do a roughly 2-foot-square section at a time, and sometimes even that was too much and took quite a bit of elbow grease to remove.

Well, half of it's protected, anyway...ha! I really was annoyed though. I got halfway done before I had to go to work, I was like "ah, it's nice out, it'll be fine"....halfway there it started pouring and it hasn't stopped. So I had half a nice shiny car for like...an hour...

My parents went out of town this weekend so i decide to supprize them and detail there cars. I clayed my moms Murano but didnt have time to put Griots paint sealent on. I didnt think anything of it, no ones around to drive them. Guess wrong, My sister went over and took it out because, well, I have no idea why. It rained...now I am debaring starting over or just sealing it.

Griots is awesome! And it does last a while. Keep it speed shined and you will be golden.

some PaintPrep and seal it.

oh yah, that SprayOn wax does wonders too. i use it on the top
surfaces and also on the door jams. excellent stuff.

I went over my entire car (G35C) with SprayOn wax that was
protected with NXT... omg... talk about reborn!

 

Good thinking with the Paint Prep. I just order 35oz to clean the black trim, works great! Didnt even think to use it for what it was intended

Yes, that spray on wax is also very nice. Finally used up the 35 oz bottle. I find it missing alot then finally located it in the back of one of my parents cars. They use it after spraying the car down at a coin up. So, i just got them there own bottle...hopefully they leave mine in my garage now! Not likely

for the WindowCleaner but i got them all for my collection.

I actually like the mist bottles vs their fine sprayer. The "fine sprayer"
sprays too much content for detailing imho...the towel gets all soaked up
by the time you're done with the hood and maybe one of the sides of
the car. For SprayOn wax and PaintPrep i think it does okay though with
the fine sprayer.

Did you know that "fine sprayer" is the same sprayer on those
cheap water bottles you can buy at Target? i bought a
couple bottles and noticed that the thing is identical.

 

I agree with you, the smaller bottles are also easier to place in your pocket so you dont have to figure out where to set it.

I had a "freebie" small bottle of Speed Shine I used today on the interior, and I like the smaller bottle better too. I like the "mist" instead of the "stream" from the big bottles.

I finished my wax job and my commuter now looks gorge-mus! I wish I had taken before pics, and it's dark now so I won't get any "after" ones tonight, but between a good polish and the Best of Show, it's amazing how the once oxidized-tinged paint looks so good now.

I'm sure it will rain like crazy now

I have been wondering.... I have paint prep and then rubber cleaner came. I look at the paint prep and see that it can also clean the rubber. I wonder if the new 35oz of rubber cleaner has more uses than cleaning the arches which paint prep seems like it can do.

The rubber cleaner is a degreaser too. I wonder which is more toxic, the prep or the rubber cleaner (for a person).

 

Well, the rubber cleaner does a fantastic job on tires, I can tell you that. It's also very good for the hoses under the hood.

Griot's is the best!. I tried it just like they say, a little goes a long way.

 

+1. your tire sauce will last a lot longer after washing with your rubber
cleaner, that's for sure. it removes waxes so be careful when you
apply not to remove the wax on your wheels.

on my weekend cars, i just spray that stuff onto a folded paper towel and
wipe a 1/4 of the sidewall circle... fold again, then apply more cleaner to the
paper towel, do another section of 1/4, and so on. i usually do about
2 passes until the tire is super clean. then wipe off the cleaner
with a wet paper towel and feel the sidewall to make sure it is nice and
clean. i let it air dry for a few minutes.

then apply sauce.

 

Speedshine on the interior? It's a wax.

 

I do the wheels and tires before getting started on the rest of the car. I hose down the wheel/tire with water, then spray rubber cleaner around the tire (usually about three squirts from the sprayer), and then spray wheel cleaner on the wheel. I let the rubber cleaner sit while I'm cleaning the wheel. For the Web-spokes, I use one of the foam three-finger mitts. For the Bundt wheels on my old Benz, I also use one of Griot's wheel-cleaning sticks, since it's the exact size of the openings in the wheel.

After cleaning the wheel, I scrub the tire with a short-bristled countoured nylon brush and then rinse everything off. After I'm done washing and drying the rest of the car, I dry off the wheels/tires last and then put on the vinyl/rubber dressing and the wheel wax.

I used to think it was overkill to clean the tires every time, but I'm amazed at how much better the tires look, especially my older ones, and how much longer the dressing keeps that rich satin black look that I love so much.

Could be fine, depending on the particular interior parts. For anything non-porous, like perhaps a body-coloured dash, it could be ideal. I'll probably use it on my carbon-fiber dash, since the carbon fiber is covered with an automotive clearcoat.
