Anyone wax their windows/sunroof?

I wouldn't wax my windshield, or rear window, since the wipers can smear/streak the wax and distort vision. I might not even want to wax the driver or passenger door windows since rolling the window up/down might also smear/streak wax. But what about the rear side glass and the sun roof?

Just wondering since I mistakenly waxed a corner of my sunroof and I felt so nice compared to the rest of the [unwaxed] glass.

I use Klasse on the side glass, and maybe the back, but not on the windshield.

I use Zaino on my windshield. The wipers do not smear or streak.

Absolutely. Zaino on the sunroof and the side glass. It looks great and makes it easier to keep clean.

I haven't tried it on the windshield, but I have found it to be somewhat effective on the rear glass at reducing the amount of dust that accumulates.

yep, zaino'd all the glass. The water literally jumps off the glass and sticks to other cars instead

Yup I use Zaino on all the glass around the mini. Love the clean clear glass... It is the fun to watch the rain drops slide right off the windsheild... I think better than Rain-X..

Enjoy..

I've been known to mix a little Klasse in with my wash water, no problem with smear/distortion in the windshield - although it isn't technically a wax either.

I wax pretty much all hard, smooth surfaces-paint, all glass, chrome, vinyl graphics. Everything but vinyl trim!

I aways finish with Z2 since that has the highest gloss so I just treat the glass like it was paint. The z6 detailer though can leave a little streaking on the glass if you do a quick job so I try not to use too much of that on the glass for day to day detailing. I have an older detailing spray that dries a lot better and I use that for cleaning the glass. If I have plenty of time then I use the z6 and just do a thorough job with the microfiber.

I think the z5 or z2 would be fine on the glass. you should always finish with z2 though.

i might have to try this.

the thing i hate about RainX is that if you get it on any of your trims,
your trim turns white... and pita to remove the excess cloud.

i'll try my NXT on my mirrors on the commuter and see how it goes.

I hated Rain-X. I can't be sure what product the Zaino people here use......but as one of them, I recently began using Z-12 glass polish and will continue to do so. I haven't tried Z-2 or Z-5 on the windows. I'm also glad I started to use Z-9 and Z-10 for cleaning and moisturizing my leather seats. A couple of weeks ago I cleaned the paint with Z-PC which contributed to producing an incredible gloss. This weekend I'm planning to wash with Z-7 and claybar with Z-18. Over that will go a coat of Z-6 which I use more than anything else. While wandering away from Zaino for a bit.....I have come back and feel more satisfied than ever with these products.

I used Z2. Waxing a windshield btw is an ancient trick, I first saw it done in 1975 when working on a farm to the windows of the combines. Regular Turtle Wax paste wax at that time.

That is just Z-Crazy ...How do you have to time to even catch some ZZZZ's with all these different Z products. I've not even heard of this brand - but I'm afraid to look into it beacause there is too many Zs to keep up with. I'll stick with my Griot's and keep my life simple - and yes, their spray wax I do use on my windows.

I appreciate your concern about the possibility that I could be sleep deprived
as a result of the time I spend using Z products. But.......not to worry. I'm retired and now I only work a couple of days a week. I have plenty of spare time to devote to my Z-addiction without losing sleep.

Actually, I just got my '06 in the middle of February so most of these Z applications are being done to this Mini for the first time. Everything is happening at once because the car is new and since this is the best time of year to get these things done.

Griot's products are the best. I am not really a big fan of their liquid wax ( I think I did not let it dry 100% before buffing) but everything else including the spray on wax is great! Speed shin is GREAT also, we us that on our boat when we take her out of the water at the end of the day. Cleans the water line with no problems.

Griot's also sells a window polish paste, this product really cleans and polishes the glass. But it does not work like the Rain-X products in the sense of rain removal.

Use NuFinish

I use NuFinish (it's a polymer) on my windows all the time. Helps with the rain.

ive used nufinish on my old jeep grand cherokee. It does last the longest out of all my other carnuba waxes however it does not have the same shine. I often would put two or three coats of carnuba on top of the nufinish... the more thin coats of wax, the glossier!
