Waterspots...how I hate 'em

So I'm sitting here at work, a great day outside. No threat of rain or impending bad weather. So the MINI is sitting outside under a shade, eagerly waiting for me to take it out on my daily lunch-time errand.

Off I go to lunch, start 'er up and throw it in reverse. Backing up I notice several waterspots adorning the bonnet of my MINI. Unfazed I jump out of the car and grab my ever-ready bottle of Meguiar's Quick Detailer and a microfiber towel. 'Round the hood I come, spraying and praying. Wow, a lot more spots than I realized. The gears slowly start turning in my head...

I see, the sprinkler system came on!

I was able to get rid of most of the spots on the bonnet and grill. Though there are a quite a few lingering spots on the bonnet stripes! :impatient

Any tips on getting rid of the spots on those stripes? They're pretty distracting when looked at in a certain angle. I really don't wanna lose 'em, but if I can't get rid of the spots then I'll just get rid of the stripes. What do you suggest? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

What a way to spend your lunch hour...

Go to any boat supply place and look for a product called "Ducky". It is for water spots on boats. works great on the boat. Another option is to use Meguiars speed glaze or a light polishing compound.

If you let them sit and bake in the sun, they are very difficult to get off, if at all. Best to get them off right away. It is a pain.

Had the same exact thing happen last summer. I had to buff out thye WHOLE car and still find spots here and there...even on the windows.

I polished my stripes with a paint cleanser but it only removed some of the spots before it started taking too much color off the stripes.
