P21S and Zaino??
P21S and Zaino??
Anyone using P21S over their Zaino to get the last little bit of pop!?? I usually to 2 coats Z5, then 3 coats Z2 usual inter-coat Z6 QD.
Just wondering what the effect would be as autopia recommends a carnuba over sealants. Are you still using Z6 QD after that??
Show season is getting closer and I want my baby to look the best possible!

For the record, I don't necessarily "recommend" a carnauba over Zaino. It's just an option people try to change the look of the finish. Carnaubas have a tint to them so the theory is that a coat on top of Zaino (which is optically clear) will cast a slightly different look. I have tried dozens of carnaubas as toppers and IMO the difference is as much psychological as anything.
The downside of adding a carnauba on top of Zaino are a few:
-The durability of the carnauba is drastically less so you need to reapply much more often to maintain maximum effect.
-Your QD needs to be compatible with the carnauba. Incompatible QD can have undesirable effects such as smearing, streaking, etc. I don't recommend Z6 with carnaubas and Z8 is even more problematic.
-You need to use a carnauba compatible shampoo. Zaino Z7 will degrade many carnaubas.
To me, Zaino has such a clear shine and slick feel that is so easily upkept with Zaino QD's and shampoo that it is kind of a waste to cover it. I found it really hard to get more "pop" out of a Zaino application. But I have done my share of experimenting in the past, too. It's fun!

I've done it on my old metallic tan Nissan Altima and you couldn't tell a difference at all. It definatley changed the look on my wifes metallic blue (dark blue) Nissan Murano. I think the effect is so much more dramatic on darker cars... it's just wasted effort on the lighter colors.
My wife's Murano looked like it was wet... which I guess it was... wet with oils in the wax. After a couple of washes, it was gone.
If I was going to enter a competition, I might think about it again... but it's just a Murano. Maybe on Astro Black it would be pretty. Chili Red too. Most of the others? Not worth the effort.

Maybe you could do a coat right when you get there! It would probably liquify the Jet Black as well, but I'd rather have 10 coats of Zaino
.
With the carnuba, you also have to be very, very careful that you don't get any on the arches! (unless you have them painted).
