I read and read and read and now I've made up my mind to plunk down a Franklin on this obscure Zaino stuff.

Unfortunately, I can't find anyone to take my money :???:

My car is finally arriving (wax free) on Monday, and the big "show-off" road trip will commence without delay Friday morning. That means I've got to have her washed and "waxed" no later than Thursday and there's no way I'm going to get some Zaino here that soon if it ships from Jersey. Even UPS 3-day select takes a minimum of 4 days to travel that route -- not including the first day. 5 days total, if it's on time.

I tried several times to call Sal Zaino to get his secret distributor list but between his banker's hours and the time zone I haven't been successful. I explained my eagerness to try his highly-touted products and noted my time constraint in an e-mail but his response was shockingly apathetic and breif. He simply told me that there's no place in the western US that will sell his products to the blacklisted Arizonans. I called the Los Angeles distributor (LA Zaino) to be sure and they confirmed.

For some reason, Zaino's near total refusal to sell his products has not entirely deterred me -- maybe because I've seen this kind of business practice on trips to former Soviet countries. So at this point, I still want to buy it even though he doesn't want to sell it. And I'm hoping maybe one of my fellow MCO'ers will be more helpful than Sal at supplying me with a vendor name.

The car is clear coat shiny as heck upon delivery. Don't worry!
Go ahead and mail off an order to Sal and it'll be waiting for you after the trip.
it really is great stuff! Here in AZ all you have to do is use a California car duster to keep a Zaino'ed car clean, even after a light rain.
Congrats on your new car

Vespa,

What's this business about blacklisted Arizonans?

Curious,
JS

There are no suppliers anywhere in the state and those in neighboring states are strictly forbidden from selling to Arizonans. Or so I was told.

Upon further pressuring, Sal finally gave up the info on his top secret Phoenix distributor. I nearly had to beat it out of him with a stick, but finally he reluctantly told me of this guy:
Glen Swensen
Phoenix, AZ 85024
(602)549-6439
grswensen@earthlink.net

I called Glen (who also happens to own an MCS) and had a great long chat, was given some great advice and tips for modifying the New Jersey instructions for our Arizona climate etc. What a great comfort it was to find a friendly and helpful distributor! I ordered a slew of stuff and it'll be in the mail Monday! Sal Zaino is going to be furious when he finds out that I bought some of his products!

binkydognose: I could very well be mistaken, but I believe the non-metallic colors such as CR are single-stage.

I'm tempted to try some of em,,, as I've noticed how happy every1 here is with there products

Yeah, Glen's a real nice guy and an absolute wealth of knowledge. But the best thing is that I got my shipment the very next day! Sure beats mailing a check to New Jersey!
