I probably applied 8-10 coats from my last bottle of Z2, but that was spread between my Nissan Altima and my wifes Nissan Murano (SUV sized).

I am headed to the SEMA Show in Vegas next month and can't wait to get the full lowdown on all polishing stuff straight from the companies themselves

If you apply a couple coats of Zaino every 2-3 months using a combination of Z5 and Z2, you should have well over a year's worth. After all, the MINI's small and a little Zaino does go a long way.

I've been able to get away with just 1 oz of either Z-2 or Z-5 per coat, but I prefer to mix up about 1 1/2 oz so I don't have to sweat it. Each comes in an 8 oz bottle.... I went through the Z-6 at about twice the rate of the polishes, so if I were ordering the kit again I'd order an extra bottle of Z-6 (or a bottle of Z-8 on Brad B's recommendation -- I haven't tried that yet). I'd also suggest ordering an extra jar of Claybar.

I had a gimpy finger this summer (the result of a Zaino accident ) which forced me to go much longer between full Zaino treatements than I planned. I just got around to it two weeks ago -- probably a full year after the last treatment! I hasten to add that my car is garaged any time it's not on the road or at the mall. Nonetheless that coat of Zaino was in pretty darn good shape. Not perfect of course, but for the most part it was still beading water pretty well. I aim for 2 or 3 times per year.

When I first tried Zaino, I used the same amounts as you but have since learned that 1oz of z2 can EASILY get me two complete applications. Same thing for the Z6...not spreading either thin enough. I found I was using too much. Now, a 25 cent sized squirt and just one 16x16 inch Costco microfibre towel does it for me.

BRAD...thanks for the Z8 info. Living in NJ, I can motor to the store in Howell that sells Zaino, avoiding the shipping costs.

You're able to do the car with just 1/4 of the 2-oz mixing bottle?

I stand in awe!

Thanks all. I feel better now. Sorry Cupoftea for hi-jacking your thread. I just get tired of seeing half a dozen threads with the same topic. Thanks again.

Despite using and recommending Zaino for years, I finally ran out of my order from a few years ago and ordered some new stuff. So Sunday was my first time using ZFX and Z2pro. I wasn't expecting any noticable difference, but really it was very noticable! Despite temps of only 55 degrees, it felt kind of dryer going on (it felt more viscous, yet was easier to apply a thinner coat), and it dried in minutes. And I've noticed the shine really IS better than before! Man..I love this stuff. :D So I'm not so grudging about that tiny $20 bottle of ZFX anymore.

Bumble, my bottle of Z2 ususally lasts me 1 to 1.5 years. I'm not good at doing thin coats though and I use an applicator with foam in it so that wastes a lot. I'm sure someone could easily squeeze two years out of one bottle. That's why I'm amazed when someone calls Zaino expensive!
