Why Zaino?

hi, just wondering is Zaino really that good?
cuz i am planning to get a bottle to try it out.
right now i am using meguiler(sp) gold, seems ok to me

they said u apply 3 coat of zaino and your paint will reflect like a mirror.
but if u apply 3 coat of other brands' wax, will they do the same thing?

and how does zaino hold? like after i apply zaino, when do i need to wax the car again?

sorry for all the question.
just wanna know. thanks

In spite of all the arguments here and elsewhere, tests seem to indicate that Zaino is the reigning "king of bling." It is among the most long lasting, too. Good stuff. However, you may be perfectly content w/ results achieved w/ other products. If so, that's great. I use Klasse myself.

About 1 month - still like the day you put it on. About 3 months, water still beads, but it's not like slick grease - still looks fantastic though. I do a coat of Z2 a month after the initial coats. I wash ever 1-2 weeks with Zaino soap, it's very gentle.

Kaleria, is your car garaged? Mine is garaged appx 8hrs and out in the elements about 16 every day. it's been raining like hell here in NJ for the past week and with 3 coats of Z2 that I put on 2 weeks ago, that puppy is still beading

I used Zaino for the first time 3 months ago , (2 coats z5 then 3 coats of Z2)....I started another thread entitled 'Zaino vs NXT vs Klasse' in which I gave Zaino excellent 1 and 2 month followup reports....I am waiting for this rain to finally stop to give the 3 month follow-up report, but the summary is after 3 months, it beads up like crazy and still shiny as heck, as far as slickness, after I wash it every week, I use the Z6 and the slickness is still super

I'm with you in Jersey and all of the rain. I have 2 coats of Klasse SG and one coat of Acrylic Glanz and my car is still beading after all of these consecutive days of pouring rain. It isn't beading like it was 1.5 months ago, but it is beading.

I've tried Zaino, Meguires full line, and just a plain bottle of Zymol cleaner wax.

Zaino looks good, sure it does, but it takes so much effort to put coat after coat on the car. And if it is true that it only last about 3 months, thats not a whole lot better than 1 coat of Zymol, I've seen it bead even after 2 months, and its shiny as heck and so easy to put on.

I don't know, I've tried Zaino a couple of times on my Old volvo and on the Mini, its good but too much effort. That said I do have Zaino on the MINI at the moment, its been 3 weeks and the car looks great.

so i guess if our car are new, all the wax should do the same thing to our paint. but if the paint is dough or not shiny anymore, zaino will give the best result?

I remain in respectful disagreement with those people who complain that Zaino is too much work. Personally, I find Zaino so much easier to apply and remove that any additional coats are just not that big of a deal. The lack of white residue in the cracks really helps too!

Whether your paint is new or old, Zaino does a good job and lasts well. What I do is apply one coat of z-1, one coat of z-2 right over the z-1, then remove. I do that about once per month. My initial application is about three coats of z-1/z-2 but I do not use that much for maintenance. It seems to last fine and look great all the time, so I am content.

I do a full Zaino treatment twice a year on my cars. I may touch up spots with clay now and then if required, and if so, then I touch up that area.

I quick detail with Z6 frequently, because I am a dust hating fanatic. And to get bird crap, bugs and what not off during the week.

I wash weekly with Z7 shampoo. I use Z8 after every other wash or so.

This routine maintains MAXIMUM slickness and gloss all year round. It's sooooo easy and my cars (which are garaged at night but sit out all day in the Midwest weather) are, if I may say so myself, eyecatching all the time.

It's the lowest maintenance, least time consuming, product selection I have ever owned.

I also respectfully disagree with those who say Zaino is difficult and time consuming to apply. I respect their opinion, but I feel very differently. I think it's rather easy to apply, after all, we have small cars! My entire detailing process from start to finish takes 3.5 hours. 3.5 hours on a Saturday morning every month is well worth a beautiful and long lasting protective shine! (You don't need to do a full detail every month, I just have Obsessive / Compulsive behavior when it comes to my MCS) I'm a firm believer that the Zaino line of products is the best out there. I've tried several, and Zaino is the winner for me. (I sound like an info-mercial... no, I don't work for Zaino, but if you call now, I can throw in some Gingsu Knives.)

there lies the difference between my "time consuming" comment and yours "it doesn't take very long"

With Zymol cleaner wax I could easily do the MINI, and buff it off, all in under 45 minutes. Zaino takes longer than that, and it takes a little while for it to dry as well.

You even have a convertible without the top to wax/zaino

I think part of my problem is that zaino is completely clear and I have no clue when its "on" the car or not, so I am perhaps overlapping my zaino apploication more often than I'm waxing, therefore the longer application time.

Also in the Florida sun

I have used just about everything in the past...Then I used Zaino. I live in West Central Florida, My car gets heated up everyday and then gets rained on just about every afternoon. Then the sun comes back out. Imagine what that does to normal waxes.

I have used the Z2 and Z5 and have about 3 coats each on my 05 Mustang. I recieved the car in June, put the Z2 and Z5 on it once a month. With as much as it rains here, its like getting a car wash everyday. Lovebugs came in September and were washed off with the high pressure hose. The few that remained more or less came right off when the washing mitt grazed them (i.e. no effort to remove them) I put on 2 coats when I saw the first bug just to make sure.

It is a little expensive but if you get the Zaino kit ($130) and some very good towels and cut the ends off, you will be rewarded. My Stang shines bright torch red and I recieve many compliments even from those who arent into cars or paint. Water runs off the car like the way it runs off windows treated with rain-x. I would highly recommend using it, and when I recieve my mini that will be the first mod she gets!

Zaino is long-lasting and super-slick. The time spent applying it is well worth it in that light. Make no mistake, there are other good product lines out there. For my part, I'm really happy with Zaino.

If you're complaining about Zaino being too much effort, you're going way overboard. It lasts months. If you're not a crazy nut who loves to wax their car every week or so, you don't have to. I do a single coat monthly in the summer, but don't touch the car over the winter, yet in the spring it is still there.

You can't pull that off with another wax, they do not last as long. In the long run they are more effort.

As many of you know I'm a Zaino Head and have been so for over 2 years. However, I had to try something the last time I detailed the car. I didn't start from scratch meaning I claybar'd etc, but I did put down a new coat of Zaino. Over the top of that I put a coat of Meguiar's Carnuba wax. WOW!! What a difference. There was depth to the crazy shine now. I always had that super sharp shine, but there was never much depth to it. The carnuba wax did the trick.

I have always figured a coat of high-qality carnuba (zymol etc) over zaino would be the best of the best for say a car show. Just be sure to wait a few months for the carnuba to melt away before apploying new zaino.

At a Mini show two weeks ago, there was a black one that really stood out The owner told me that's exacty what he did for the show: carnuba over Zaino.

Just be sure to wait a few months for the carnuba to melt away before apploying new zaino

Or use Dawn?

Now, about Z8. What, besides being more expen$ive than Z6, is the perceived difference?

Z8 is slicker and will remain slicker, longer than Z6. It also offers an actual protective layer that bonds to the surface where Z6 does not.

Plus it smells soooo good!

I wasn't sold on the Z8, but of course I was working on my daily driver, a 1997 Nissan Altima.

When my 06 MCS comes in December, I'll see how it works after a couple dozen coats of Zaino...

Ok, I posted this in anouther thread but I have this lack of patience thing going on. That and it never hurts to bump up the post count.
Ok this is kinda off topic but I didn't want to start another Zaino thread. Approximatly how many applications do you get out of a bottle of Zaino? I see the list the size of the bottles but on average how long is this bottle going to last. I am thinking of ordering the ZKIT-1 for $85 and want to know if this is enought to last a while if I wash and wax every couple of months.
