Nu Finish
Nu Finish
I have read of various "waxes" that are recommended/used on MINI's. For years I have used NUFINISH (comes in a orange bottle) on cars boats, etc. This contains no wax and is very easy to apply. It last at least 9 months. Has any one else used this.
My MC is due in October and I want to treat it as soon as possible, but don't want to do any damage. Remember this contains no wax.

NuFinish is a good product, I'd use it again.
By the time you get your MINI the paint will be ready for your choice of wax/polish.
I've read a couple of posts re NU Finish, all said ok, nobody had any complaints.
One sure way to avoid damage to your October arrival is to make sure your dealer doesn't get his hands on the paint. Make sure that when they prep you, they do NOTHING to the finish. Grab it off the truck, bring it home, and then put whatever you like on it.
When I got my newbie, I was clueless, and the dealer put a coat of Meguires NXT on it. I had to remove it in order to put on Zaino, which has become my personal favorite.
NAM's Detailing 101 forum is a tutorial in protecting your car's finish. You've got plenty of time to read what brands we Mini owners like.
By October, you'll be an expert and highly unlikely to cause any damage.
Good luck!

Glad to hear the favorable comments on Nu Finish. I have used it for over twenty years and have never had problems. Have used it on every thing from cars to 35' sailboats (that was "fun"??). I do recall Consumer Reports being very high on this.

I've heard it is very good on wheels, can take high temps.
I plan on trying it soon on my wheels.

I have been told by the owner of a detail chemical manufacturer that new finish is indeed a very good product. I personally dont use it but like the rest I have never heard anything bad about it.

I don't want or need that for my body paint.
My parents swore by this stuff and I used it myself for 10 years or so... every 6 months like clockwork.
It is chock full of solvents and abrasives so it cleans a lot of the impurities off of your paint like a cleaner wax. It's also a synthetic of sorts and has a durability better than most waxes.
Like BradB mentiones above, you will get much better results with a 2 step process like clay-bar and sealant (Zaino/Klasse).

I used some for the first time on Monday. I did my wheels with it after washing and claying them. It was very easy to use, and my wheels are very slick and shiny.
I didn't do one wheel just to see how easy it is to wash them this weekend.
Then I will do it.
You sure can smell the solvents.

I plan on staying with NU Finish, both on the wheels and car. After using it for more than 15 years, why switch. I know that I used it once a year on my 35' sailboat, before I sold it. The first time I used it I could not believe the difference. It looked like a new boat. I hope that it does the same with my MINI. Had never tried this on wheels, but I think that it is worth the try, based on other opinions from this thread.
Nu Finish is on my top 2 list
it is awesomely easy to use..
Zaino, for it's wet nail polish shine is still quite a bit of work
and don't tell Sal, but I have been known to put Zaino on over top of Nu Finish.

One more thing I noticed about Nu-Finish. Even though I washed and clayed my white holies, I had a very slight oil type stain on one wheel.
I guess because Nu-Finish is solvent based it got rid of it as I was wiping it on
