All I can say is that if the car had looked this good when I got it, there's no way I could have brought myself to have piled 11,500 miles on it with no regard for the weather, traffic or road conditions. I'm stunned by how it looks in the garage. I can't wait to see it in the morning.

Along with some NFL football, I probably spent about 3 hours on it. The car was just washed yesterday, so it was ready to go. I didn't repeat the clay treatment, but I'll probably need to in the spring. Some may feel like the time spent is too much, but if I only need do it every 4-5 months to get this kind of spectacular results, I have no problem justifying the time. Besides, it was fun.

3 month follow up on Zaino

well, here's my 3 month follow-up on Zaino. You can find the one month follow up on this thread, post #98, and the two month report on post #116

well, the water beading isn't as good as at the 2 month report, but still I would rate it as very good to excellent, as opposed to the amazing I gave it last month

the slickness also is faltering but still doing pretty good...I would rate it as pretty good, using the Z6

the shinyness...still excellent

so...this ends my final report on my Zaino experience. I intend to do another 2 coats of Z2 next month so that will be four months.....so with those next 2 coats, that will hopefully get me through the winter. For me, Zaino is less work than the monthly application of NXT that I needed to do....I know, some people get longer than one month on NXT, but for me, Zaino lasted way longer

so one last question for anyone who may be reading this: I want to do a light claying prior to applying the 2 more coats of Z2..will claying remove or damage the existing Zaino?

Claying can degrade the the finish but it won't remove the Zaino entirely. The more lube you use the better, just do what you need to make the finish smooth and you should be set!

I need some help. Before switching over to Zaino what should I do to the old finish first. All I have ever done is wash and dry then apply a coat of Nu Finish. Here is what I am thinking.

Wash car with dawn to remove old wax
Dry
Clay Bar
Zaino 2 (1 or 2 coats???)
Zaino 5

Anything else I should do?

Washing a car these days is getting pretty technical. :impatient

Wash with dawn
No need to dry
Clay Bar
Wash & dry (At least hose off the whole car & dry)
Z-5 1-2 coats (you'll see if a second coat is necessary)
Z-2 2 coats (at least, more the merrier:smile
Don't forget to add ZFX to the Z-2 & Z-5 (allows you to do multiple coats without waiting for drying time)

Thank, I figured I had it mixed up a little. I'll give it a try and let you know what I think.
