Zymol's new Mini Glaze...anybody?
Zymol's MiniGlaze has a substantially different composition than their other waxes, like Carbon or Concours. How is this new wax ideal for the Mini's paint, technically speaking? (Zymol reps out there?)

Ryephile,
I posed your question to my contact at Zymol and received the following:
"Created with the assistance of Mini, zymöl Mini wax offers the best possible finish protection owners can buy for the retro sports car. Mini (BMW) specific water borne acrylic contains flex agents to prevent crazing and cracking as they age or are exposed to UV and the environment. Solvent and alcohol-based treatments accelerates this paint's loss of flex agents and leaves the paint brittle. zymöl Mini wax is an oil-rich (high concentrations of coconut oil, banana oil and Glycerol Stearate) feeding product that restores original flex agent and seals the paint with a hard-cured raw Carnauba finish especially when applied using the warmth of a 'hand' application."
Hope this helps!

Banana's and the other oils: Fruity wax for a fruity car?
I'll give it a try. I'm just wondering why...since the MINI paint is basically BMW? why wouldn't I just use Carbon or Concours like on my 3-series?

Thanks Dave: I'm gonna pick some up before the sale ends; although it'll be chilling for a couple months before I get to try it on the MINI
I'm not too worried about the pricing, I'm just looking for the clearest optics, deepest gloss and best protection for the MINI

Just used the mini glaze and it was eazy to apply and Pip never looked better. And as a side effect I now have a scatch and sniff car

Unfortunately its -30 degrees celcius up in toronto right now with 60 km/h winds so I dont think I will be waxing my car for another couple months

I received my Zymol MINI Wax kit in the mail in November and have only had one opportunity, here in Denver to wax. But, I found the wax easy to use and a pleasure to look upon afterwards. I want to wax again but, until we get some decent outside temps I will wait as the paint is beading with every wash.
Being a devout Maguire's enthusiast in the past I can tell you that the Zymol products are of at least as good if not better quality. I like the application more that with Maguires products and the end result is really awesome. Particularly, the pleasent odor. Like drinking Pina Colada. I'll report again later when I have a chance to do it again in pleasent weather.
