Will adding mudflaps help any?

I try to take my MCSC out only when it's dry but she still gets dirty pretty fast on the boot. The OEM mudflaps are pretty cheap but I don't know how much difference it will make. Anyone have experience with the OEM mudflaps?

i was very pleased with my front flaps, they helped alot. i wouldnt ever buy rears for 2 reasons. 1, the fenders drop low enuff to stop most debris, and 2, the look *** ugly on the back!

Sorry, but hatchbacks like ours will always get a dirty butt. No mudflap is going to change that.

Best thing you can do is wipe it down regularly if it bugs you a lot. . .

I don't have rear mudflaps, but have read on other forums that they don't help that much.

The rear do not fit the S and they do not make a differance unless your slinging mud,as far as the dirty boot it's the aero dynamics of the car.

Can someone post pictures with the front flaps on... they are doing a ton of road construction and the tar on the car is really bothering me... will the flaps help a lot?

I have front and rear mudflaps on my Cooper. I wish I had only installed them on the front, as I feel they do a good job there. The rear mudflats work OK and do not hurt the overall "look" of my Cooper, but I still get a fair amount of crap thrown onto the back in sloppy weather. Thank God for that rear wiper! However, in nice weather, I don't get ANY kind of dusting at all. The main beef I have with the rear mudflaps is that they are VERY expensive and somewhat difficult to install by oneself. So, I had to have the dealer install mine...NEVER AGAIN.

With an "S", the fronts are your only option, as they will not fit on the rear...and, that's a GOOD THING! One thing I have heard, is that many people like to install those magnetic stone guards on the panel just in front of the rear wheels, to keep the debris from the front mudflaps from nicking that panel. If you decide to install front mudflaps, I have a set of the stoneguards you can buy, if interested.
