Coolant smell

Coolant smell

Anything to kill the coolant smell in eng compartment after expansion tank leaked all over .

what you still smell is just the old coolant cooking off yet .... the smell will go away soon unless you still have a leak!

You can safely use a hose to try and wash off residual ... just don't spray crazy on anything that looks electrical!

If talking a GEN1 S the coolant dropped right onto a splash pan and then the exhaust so I'd concentrate there

if a GEN2 it could have soaked the radiator .... but those are water friendly so spray away ...

It's a r53 , I did hose the header , splash shield while the eng was cold but that freaking coolant smell is so annoying!!! I also installed new rad, hoses and heater tubes and pressure tested afterwards

it will cook off

trust me ... getting a thick plastic bag stuck on a hot exhaust pipe stinks longer!
