It's starting to rain!
My MINI has touched rain (or rain has touched my MINI) for the first time this mourning. After I got home I sprayed my car down with a hose. Do you think this is necessary or even bad for my car?
Hosin' off your car won't hurt anything, but it might not help anything either. If its been raining and your MINI hasn't been out motoring, some careful drying and a spritz of quick detailer is all that's probably needed. Even if the roads stay essentially dry and the odd drop or two came out of the heavens, just a little drying and quick detailer should do. BUT, if you've been out with other cars spraying road sludge and slime all around, then a good washing is in order. A spay off with the hose probably won't get all the dirt off either....and drying will just scrape all those tiny, tiny mud pieces all over your nice paint. That's why a good sudsy bath is called for.

Ditto to that!! He's so dirty, but there is no point in washing yet.

Welcome to the "my backside is incredibly dirty from the rain" phase of MINI ownership.
It's 42 outside now, and clear weather for the next few days, So it's a wash this morning:smile:. I wash every chance I get in the winter, because I don't like the grime on the back. Be sure you do it gently.
